O papel do homem
A Bíblia define o papel do homem na família e na sociedade: líder servidor, provedor fiel, pai presente e marido amoroso, seguindo o exemplo de Cristo.
Marido e pai
O marido deve amar a esposa como Cristo amou a Igreja. O pai é chamado a criar os filhos na disciplina e instrução do Senhor.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church, and delivered himself up for it:
4 And you, fathers, provoke not your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and correction of the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter towards them.
7 Ye husbands, likewise dwelling with them according to knowledge, giving honour to the female as to the weaker vessel, and as to the co-heirs of the grace of life: that your prayers be not hindered.
Provedor e responsável
Quem não cuida dos seus é pior que o descrente. O homem deve trabalhar com diligência e prover para sua família com honra.
8 But if any man have not care of his own, and especially of those of his house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
10 For also when we were with you, this we declared to you: that, if any man will not work, neither let him eat.
23 Whatsoever you do, do it from the heart, as to the Lord, and not to men:
2 It behoveth therefore a bishop to be blameless, the husband of one wife, sober, prudent, of good behaviour, chaste, given to hospitality, a teacher,3 Not given to wine, no striker, but modest, not quarrelsome, not covetous, but4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all chastity.
Caráter e liderança
O homem de Deus é corajoso, íntegro e cheio do Espírito. Ele lidera pelo exemplo e guia sua casa nos caminhos do Senhor.
13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith,do manfully, and be strengthened.
19 "Seeing he shall become a great and mighty nation, and in him all the nations of the earth shall be blessed?
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury; but be ye filled with the holy Spirit,
