O papel do homem
A Bíblia define o papel do homem na família e na sociedade: líder servidor, provedor fiel, pai presente e marido amoroso, seguindo o exemplo de Cristo.
Marido e pai
O marido deve amar a esposa como Cristo amou a Igreja. O pai é chamado a criar os filhos na disciplina e instrução do Senhor.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as also the Meshiha loved his church, and gave himself for her,
4 Parents, make not your children angry, but make them to grow in the discipline and in the doctrine of our Lord.
19 Men, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
7 AND you, men, dwell likewise with your wives with knowledge, and as feeble vessels in honour hold them; for they also with you inherit the gift of the life of eternity; that you be not hindered in your prayers.
Provedor e responsável
Quem não cuida dos seus é pior que o descrente. O homem deve trabalhar com diligência e prover para sua família com honra.
8 For if a man hath not care of them who are his own, and especially of them who are children of the household of faith, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than those who believe not.
10 For while we were with you, this we commanded you, that every one who willeth not to work, neither should he eat.
23 And all that you do, from all your heart do (it), as to our Lord, and not as to men.
2 But it behoveth that a presbyter be as that blame be not found in him; and that he be the husband of one wife; (a man) who is of a vigilant mind, chaste, and orderly, and a lover of guests, and instructful;3 and not a transgressor over wine, nor (one) whose hand hastens to strike; but he is to be gentle and not contentious, nor a lover of money;4 and (one who) ruleth his house well, holding his children in subjection with all purity.
Caráter e liderança
O homem de Deus é corajoso, íntegro e cheio do Espírito. Ele lidera pelo exemplo e guia sua casa nos caminhos do Senhor.
13 WATCH, and stand in the faith; be manful and be strong.
18 And be not drunk with wine, in which is intemperance, but be filled with the Spirit.
