9 and the multitudes who were going before, and who were following, were crying, saying, 'Hosanna to the Son of David, blessed is he who is coming in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.'

18 'Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man shall be delivered to the chief priests and scribes,19 and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the nations to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify, and the third day he will rise again.'

A paixão de Cristo

Jesus foi zombado, açoitado e crucificado. Ele orou no Getsêmani e entregou sua vida voluntariamente, dizendo: 'Está consumado!'

28 and having unclothed him, they put around him a crimson cloak,29 and having plaited him a crown out of thorns they put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand, and having kneeled before him, they were mocking him, saying, 'Hail, the king of the Jews.'

37 and they put up over his head, his accusation written, 'This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.'

36 and he said, 'Abba, Father; all things are possible to You; make this cup pass from me; but, not what I will, but what You.'

46 and having cried with a loud voice, Jesus said, 'Father, to Your hands I commit my spirit;' and these things having said, he breathed forth the spirit.

30 when, therefore, Jesus received the vinegar, he said, 'It has been finished;' and having bowed the head, gave up the spirit.

A ressurreição gloriosa

Ele não está aqui — ressuscitou! O túmulo vazio é a prova de que a morte foi derrotada e Cristo vive para sempre.

5 And the messenger answering said to the women, 'Fear not you, for I have known that Jesus, who has been crucified, you seek;6 he is not here, for he rose, as he said; come, see the place where the Lord was lying;

6 And he said to them, 'Be not amazed, you seek Jesus the Nazarene, the crucified: he did rise -- he is not here; lo, the place where they laid him!

6 he is not here, but was raised; remember how he spake to you, being yet in Galilee,7 saying -- It is necessary for the Son of Man to be delivered up to the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again.'

8 then, therefore, entered also the other disciple who came first unto the tomb, and he saw, and did believe;9 for not yet did they know the Writing, that it behooves him out of the dead to rise again.
