Perseguição
Jesus deixou claro que caminhar ao lado dele significa enfrentar oposição. O mundo que rejeitou o Mestre também estranha a vida daqueles que escolhem viver com retidão. Quando a hostilidade surge por causa da fé, isso não significa abandono de Deus, mas a confirmação de que você pertence a Cristo.
A Palavra de Deus oferece direção exata para os dias de incompreensão e rejeição. Em vez de revolta, você encontra orientação para responder ao mal com amor, além da promessa de que nenhuma lágrima passa despercebida por quem governa a história. O próprio Senhor sustenta os passos de quem caminha sob o peso da cruz.
Jesus advertiu que seus seguidores seriam perseguidos pelo mundo. Mas a perseguição não é sinal de fracasso — é sinal de fidelidade. Bem-aventurados os que sofrem por causa da justiça.
Perseguição como marca do discípulo
Jesus disse: se o mundo vos odeia, sabei que antes de vós odiou a mim. Todo o que quer viver piedosamente será perseguido.
If the worlde hate you, ye knowe that it hated me before you.(John 15:18)
Yea, and all that will liue godly in Christ Iesus, shall suffer persecution.(2 Timothy 3:12)
Blessed are they which suffer persecution for righteousnes sake: for theirs is the kingdome of heauen.(Matthew 5:10)
Blessed shall ye be when men reuile you, and persecute you, and say all maner of euill against you for my sake, falsely.(Matthew 5:11)
Blessed are ye when men hate you, and when they separate you, and reuile you, and put out your name as euill, for the Sonne of mans sake.(Luke 6:22)
Recompensa na perseguição
Os perseguidos por causa de Cristo receberão grande galardão no céu. Quem perde por amor ao evangelho receberá cem vezes mais.
Iesus answered, and sayd, Verely I say vnto you, there is no man that hath forsaken house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my sake and the Gospels, But he shall receiue an hundred folde, now at this present, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands with persecutions, and in the world to come, eternall life.(Mark 10:29,30)
Who shall separate vs from the loue of Christ? shall tribulation or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakednesse, or perill, or sworde?(Romans 8:35)
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproches, in necessities, in persecutions, in anguish for Christes sake: for when I am weake, then am I strong.(2 Corinthians 12:10)
Amor e confiança em meio à adversidade
A Bíblia nos ensina a amar nossos perseguidores, abençoar os que nos maldizem e confiar que nossos tempos estão nas mãos de Deus.
But I say vnto you, Loue your enemies: blesse them that curse you: doe good to them that hate you, and pray for them which hurt you, and persecute you,(Matthew 5:44)
Blesse them which persecute you: blesse, I say, and curse not.(Romans 12:14)
My times are in thine hande: deliuer mee from the hande of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.(Psalms 31:15)
Yea, though I should walke through the valley of the shadowe of death, I will feare no euill: for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staffe, they comfort me.(Psalms 23:4)
Be sober, and watch: for your aduersarie the deuil as a roaring lyon walketh about, seeking whom he may deuoure:(1 Peter 5:8)
