7 But *if we walk in the light, *as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and *the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

9 *If we confess our sins, he is *faithful and just to forgive us our sins and *to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

14 how much more will *the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit *offered himself without blemish to God, *purify our* conscience *from dead works *to serve the living God.

3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and *the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. *After making purification for sins, *he sat down *at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

14 *who gave himself for us to *redeem us from all lawlessness and *to purify for himself *a people for his own possession who are *zealous for good works.

10 *Create in me a *clean heart, O God,

and *renew a right* spirit within me.

1 *Have mercy on me,* O God,

according to your steadfast love;

according to your *abundant mercy

*blot out my transgressions.

2 *Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,

and *cleanse me from my sin!

8 *Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. *Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and *purify your hearts, *you double-minded.

1 Since we have these promises, beloved, *let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body* and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

2 Beloved, we are *God’s children *now, and what we will be *has not yet appeared; but we know that *when he appears**we shall be like him, because *we shall see him as he is. 3 And everyone who *thus hopes in him *purifies himself as he is pure.

3 Already *you are clean *because of the word that I have spoken to you.

25 *Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and *gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by *the washing of water *with the word,

16 And now why do you wait? *Rise and be baptized and *wash away your sins, *calling on his name.’

21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, *now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but *as an appeal to God for a good conscience, *through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

16 *Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;

remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;

*cease to do evil,

20 And he said, *"What comes out of a person is what defiles him.21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, *murder, adultery,22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, *sensuality, *envy, *slander, *pride, *foolishness.23 *All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person."
