Os relacionamentos são centrais na vida cristã. A Bíblia orienta sobre amizade, casamento, família e convivência, sempre tendo o amor como fundamento de toda relação.
Amor e amizade
O amigo ama em todo tempo. A Bíblia valoriza amizades verdadeiras que edificam, fortalecem e desafiam ao crescimento mútuo.
17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
17 Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falls; for he has not another to help him up.
12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Casamento e família
O casamento é aliança sagrada. O marido deve amar a esposa como Cristo amou a Igreja, e ambos devem cultivar respeito e submissão mútua.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (o. rhema)
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an associated helper for him.
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
7 You are all fair, my love; there is no spot in you.
Convivência saudável
Os relacionamentos florescem quando tratamos os outros como gostaríamos de ser tratados, com amor crescente e caráter maduro.
12 Therefore all things whatsoever all of you would that men should do to you, do all of you even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
19 Honour your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.
12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love (o. agape) one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
14 Be all of you not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness?
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;6 And to knowledge wilful restrain; and to wilful restrain patience; and to patience godliness;7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. (o. agape)
1 A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
