A segunda vinda de Cristo é a esperança suprema da Igreja. Jesus prometeu que voltará com poder e grande glória para julgar os vivos e os mortos e estabelecer seu Reino eterno.
A promessa do retorno
Jesus prometeu voltar. Os anjos declararam que Ele virá da mesma forma como ascendeu. A Igreja aguarda esse dia glorioso com expectativa.
who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what willbe the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"
And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you.For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for allthese things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

You Will Know Them by Their Fruits
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles.These are the beginnings of sorrows.
"But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them.And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.
Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.

The Coming of the Son of Man
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
The Parable of the Fig Tree
"Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

"And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Vigilância e preparo
Ninguém sabe o dia nem a hora. Jesus nos ordena a vigiar, orar e estar prontos, pois Ele virá quando menos esperamos.
Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

The Importance of Watching
"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."
Serving for God’s Glory
But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
Blessing and Admonition
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, thatyoumaybe blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Trained by Saving Grace
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting oneanother, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
Behold,I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Children of God
And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
