Servir
Jesus mudou a lógica do mundo quando trocou o poder pelo cuidado. Enquanto a maioria busca destaque e reconhecimento, o caminho de quem crê passa pelas mãos estendidas para ajudar o próximo. Cuidar de quem precisa e gastar a própria vida pelos outros não é um fardo pesado, mas a consequência natural de conhecer o amor de Deus.
As palavras da Escritura mostram que a verdadeira grandeza acontece na rotina simples, longe dos holofotes. Quando você coloca seus dons e seu tempo à disposição da comunidade e da sua família, você caminha exatamente nos passos que o próprio Cristo deixou para orientar a sua vida.
Servir é o coração do evangelho. Jesus não veio para ser servido, mas para servir. O cristão é chamado a seguir esse exemplo, colocando-se a serviço de Deus e do próximo.
O exemplo de Jesus
Cristo é o modelo supremo de serviço. Ele lavou os pés dos discípulos e deu a própria vida como resgate por muitos.
For euen the Sonne of man came not to be serued, but to serue, and to giue his life for the raunsome of many.(Mark 10:45)

Servindo ao Senhor
Servir a Deus é um privilégio e uma ordenança. Devemos amá-lo de todo coração e servi-lo com alegria e fidelidade.
And if it seeme euill vnto you to serue the Lord, choose you this day whome yee will serue, whether the gods which your fathers serued (that were beyond the flood) or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwel: but I and mine house will serue the Lord.(Joshua 24:15)
But take diligent heede, to doe the commandement and Lawe, which Moses the seruant of the Lord commanded you: that is, that ye loue the Lord your God, and walke in all his wayes, and keepe his commandements, and cleaue vnto him, and serue him with all your heart and with all your soule.(Joshua 22:5)
And nowe, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to feare the Lord thy God, to walke in all his wayes, and to loue him, and to serue the Lord thy God, with all thine heart, and with all thy soule? That thou keepe the commandements of the Lord, and his ordinances, which I commaund thee this day, for thy wealth?(Deuteronomy 10:12,13)
Yee shall walke after the Lord your God and feare him, and shall keepe his commandements, and hearken vnto his voyce, and yee shall serue him, and cleaue vnto him.(Deuteronomy 13:4)
Not slouthfull to do seruice: seruent in spirit seruing the Lord,(Romans 12:11)
How much more shall the blood of Christ which through the eternall Spirit offered himselfe without fault to God, purge your conscience from dead workes, to serue the liuing God?(Hebrews 9:14)
Servir ao próximo
A liberdade cristã nos chama a servir uns aos outros pelo amor. Cada dom recebido é para edificação do corpo de Cristo.
For brethren, ye haue bene called vnto libertie: onely vse not your libertie as an occasion vnto the flesh, but by loue serue one another.(Galatians 5:13)
As free, and not as hauing the libertie for a cloke of maliciousnesse, but as the seruauntes of God.(1 Peter 2:16)
If any man serue me, let him follow me: for where I am, there shall also my seruant be: and if any man serue me, him will my Father honour.(John 12:26)
No man can serue two masters: for eyther he shall hate the one, and loue the other, or els he shall leane to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serue God and riches.(Matthew 6:24)

Fidelidade e recompensa
O servo fiel e sábio será recompensado pelo Senhor. A fidelidade no serviço honra a Deus e produz frutos eternos.
Then his master saide vnto him, It is well done good seruant and faithfull, Thou hast bene faithfull in litle, I will make thee ruler ouer much: enter into thy masters ioy.(Matthew 25:21)
Therefore my beloued brethren, be ye stedfast, vnmoueable, aboundant alwayes in the worke of the Lord, forasmuch as ye knowe that your labour is not in vaine in the Lord.(1 Corinthians 15:58)
For the whole Scripture is giuen by inspiration of God, and is profitable to teache, to conuince, to correct, and to instruct in righteousnesse, That the man of God may be absolute, being made perfect vnto all good workes.(2 Timothy 3:16,17)
The pathes of man are directed by the Lord: for he loueth his way.(Psalms 37:23)
The Lord redeemeth the soules of his seruants: and none, that trust in him, shall perish.(Psalms 34:22)
