Temor dos homens
O temor dos homens é uma armadilha que paralisa a fé. A Bíblia nos convida a trocar o medo humano pela confiança em Deus, que é nosso refúgio e escudo.
Não temas os homens
Deus é a nossa luz e salvação — de quem teremos medo? A Escritura nos encoraja a não temer aqueles que podem destruir o corpo, mas não a alma.
A Psalme of David. The Lord is my light and my saluation, whom shall I feare? the Lord is the strength of my life, of whome shall I be afraide?
When the wicked, euen mine enemies and my foes came vpon mee to eate vp my flesh; they stumbled and fell. Though an hoste pitched against me, mine heart should not be afraide: though warre be raised against me, I will trust in this.
And feare yee not them which kill the bodie, but are nor able to kill the soule: but rather feare him, which is able to destroy both soule and bodie in hell.
And I say vnto you, my friendes, be not afraide of them that kill the bodie, and after that are not able to doe any more. But I wil forewarne you, who ye shall feare: feare him which after hee hath killed, hath power to cast into hell: yea, I say vnto you, him feare.
Confiança em Deus acima do medo
Quando tememos a Deus, o medo dos homens perde o poder. O Senhor está conosco, e se Ele é por nós, quem será contra nós?
When I was afrayd, I trusted in thee. I will reioyce in God, because of his word, I trust in God, and will not feare what flesh can doe vnto me.
The Lord is with mee: therefore I will not feare what man can doe vnto me.
I will not faile thee, neither forsake thee:
Ye shall not feare them: for the Lord your God, he shall fight for you.
And thou sonne of man, feare them not, neither be afraide of their wordes, although rebels, and thornes be with thee, and thou remainest with scorpions: feare not their wordes, nor be afrayde at their lookes, for they are a rebellious house.
