Trabalho
23 and all, whatever ye may do -- out of soul work -- as to the Lord, and not to men,
23 and all, whatever ye may do -- out of soul work -- as to the Lord, and not to men,24 having known that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance -- for the Lord Christ ye serve;
17 and all, whatever ye may do in word or in work, [do] all things in the name of the Lord Jesus -- giving thanks to the God and Father, through him.
7 with good-will serving, as to the Lord, and not to men,8 having known that whatever good thing each one may do, this he shall receive from the Lord, whether servant or freeman.
31 Whether, then, ye eat, or drink, or do anything, do all to the glory of God;
58 so that, my brethren beloved, become ye stedfast, unmovable, abounding in the work of the Lord at all times, knowing that your labour is not vain in the Lord.
14 let all your things be done in love.
Diligência e recompensa
A mão diligente enriquece, mas a preguiça traz pobreza. A Bíblia valoriza o esforço honesto, dedicado e perseverante em toda obra.
4 Poor [is] he who is working -- a slothful hand, And the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
24 The hand of the diligent ruleth, And slothfulness becometh tributary.
24 The hand of the diligent ruleth, And slothfulness becometh tributary.
23 In all labour there is advantage, And a thing of the lips [is] only to want.
6 Go unto the ant, O slothful one, See her ways and be wise;7 Which hath not captain, overseer, and ruler,8 She doth prepare in summer her bread, She hath gathered in harvest her food.9 Till when, O slothful one, dost thou lie? When dost thou arise from thy sleep?10 A little sleep, a little slumber, A little clasping of the hands to rest,11 And thy poverty hath come as a traveller, And thy want as an armed man.
9 He also that is remiss in his work, A brother he [is] to a destroyer.
13 Love not sleep, lest thou become poor, Open thine eyes -- be satisfied [with] bread.
11 Wealth from vanity becometh little, And whoso is gathering by the hand becometh great.
22 The blessing of Jehovah -- it maketh rich, And He addeth no grief with it.
Planejamento e excelência
A excelência no trabalho honra a Deus. Devemos nos dedicar com competência, entregar nossos planos ao Senhor e buscar o melhor em cada tarefa.
3 Roll unto Jehovah thy works, And established are thy purposes,
3 Roll unto Jehovah thy works, And established are thy purposes,
29 Hast thou seen a man speedy in his business? Before kings he doth station himself, He stations not himself before obscure men!
15 be diligent to present thyself approved to God -- a workman irreproachable, rightly dividing the word of the truth;
15 be diligent to present thyself approved to God -- a workman irreproachable, rightly dividing the word of the truth;
16 every Writing [is] God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for setting aright, for instruction that [is] in righteousness,17 that the man of God may be fitted -- for every good work having been completed.
10 All that thy hand findeth to do, with thy power do, for there is no work, and device, and knowledge, and wisdom in Sheol whither thou art going.
14 All things do without murmurings and reasonings,15 that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God, unblemished in the midst of a generation crooked and perverse, among whom ye do appear as luminaries in the world,
O contentamento no trabalho
Deus nos dá a capacidade de desfrutar do nosso trabalho. Poder comer, beber e encontrar satisfação em nosso labor é um dom divino.
12 I have known that there is no good for them except to rejoice and to do good during their life,13 yea, even every man who eateth and hath drunk and seen good by all his labour, it [is] a gift of God.
18 Lo, that which I have seen: [It is] good, because beautiful, to eat, and to drink, and to see good in all ones labour that he laboureth at under the sun, the number of the days of his life that God hath given to him, for it [is] his portion.
19 Every man also to whom God hath given wealth and riches, and hath given him power to eat of it, and to accept his portion, and to rejoice in his labour, this is a gift of God.
9 The two [are] better than the one, in that they have a good reward by their labour.
8 There is one, and there is not a second; even son or brother he hath not, and there is no end to all his labour! His eye also is not satisfied with riches, and [he saith not], For whom am I labouring and bereaving my soul of good? This also is vanity, it is a sad travail.
4 And I have seen all the labour, and all the benefit of the work, because for it a man is the envy of his neighbour. Even this [is] vanity and vexation of spirit.
A responsabilidade cristã
O cristão deve trabalhar com suas próprias mãos, viver dignamente e ser exemplo de dedicação. Quem não trabalha, não coma.
10 for even when we were with you, this we did command you, that if any one is not willing to work, neither let him eat,11 for we hear of certain walking among you disorderly, nothing working, but over working,12 and such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness working, their own bread they may eat;
11 and to study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we did command you,12 that ye may walk becomingly unto those without, and may have lack of nothing.
28 whoso is stealing let him no more steal, but rather let him labour, working the thing that is good with the hands, that he may have to impart to him having need.
8 and God [is] able all grace to cause to abound to you, that in every thing always all sufficiency having, ye may abound to every good work,
9 there doth remain, then, a sabbatic rest to the people of God,10 for he who did enter into his rest, he also rested from his works, as God from His own.
17 And let the pleasantness of Jehovah our God be upon us, And the work of our hands establish on us, Yea, the work of our hands establish it!
26 look to the fowls of the heaven, for they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into storehouses, and your heavenly Father doth nourish them; are not ye much better than they?
13 and who [is] he who will be doing you evil, if of Him who is good ye may become imitators?
12 Verily, verily, I say to you, he who is believing in me, the works that I do -- that one also shall do, and greater than these he shall do, because I go on to my Father;
24 but I make account of none of these, neither do I count my life precious to myself, so that I finish my course with joy, and the ministration that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify fully the good news of the grace of God.
8 See to yourselves that ye may not lose the things that we wrought, but a full reward may receive;
