Uma só carne
O conceito de 'uma só carne' é o fundamento bíblico do casamento. Desde a criação, Deus uniu homem e mulher em uma aliança indissolúvel de amor, compromisso e intimidade.
A instituição divina do casamento
Deus criou o homem e a mulher e os uniu em aliança. O casamento é obra de Deus, e o que Ele juntou não separe o ser humano.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof.22 And the Lord God formed the rib which he had taken from the man into a woman, and brought her unto the man.23 And the man said, This time it is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; this shall be called Woman, Ishah, because out of Man Ishi was this one taken.24 Therefore doth a man leave his father and his mother, and cleave unto his wife, and they become one flesh.
18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help suitable for him.
27 And God created man in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
O mistério da união
Paulo ensina que a união conjugal é um grande mistério que aponta para Cristo e a Igreja. A intimidade reflete a comunhão espiritual plena.
15 And not one doth so who hath a remnant of a good spirit; for what desireth such a one? he seeketh to possess a godly posterity: therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none of you deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
Fidelidade e alegria
A aliança conjugal exige fidelidade, respeito e dedicação mútua. A Bíblia celebra a alegria da intimidade dentro do casamento.
18 Thy fountain will be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth,19 The lovely gazelle and the graceful chamois: let her bosom satisfy thee abundantly at all times; with her love be thou ravished continually.20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with an adulteress, and embrace the bosom of an alien woman?
