A escravidão do pecado

34 Jesus answered them: Amen, amen I say unto you: that whosoever committeth sin, is the servant of sin.

36 If therefore the son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

36 If therefore the son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews, who believed him: If you continue in my word, you shall be my disciples indeed.32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

1 Stand fast, and be not held again under the yoke of bondage.

16 Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are whom you obey, whether it be of sin unto death, or of obedience unto justice.

Resistência e domínio próprio

O fruto do Espírito inclui o domínio próprio.

21 Envies, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like. Of the which I foretell you, as I have foretold to you, that they who do such things shall not obtain the kingdom of God.23 Mildness, faith, modesty, continency, chastity. Against such there is no law.

12 All things are lawful to me, but all things are not expedient. All things are lawful to me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

12 All things are lawful to me, but all things are not expedient. All things are lawful to me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

27 But I chastise my body, and bring it into subjection: lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway.

13 Let no temptation take hold on you, but such as is human. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able: but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it.

13 Let no temptation take hold on you, but such as is human. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able: but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it.

41 Watch ye, and pray that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh weak.

7 Be subject therefore to God, but resist the devil, and he will fly from you.

3 Knowing that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

1 I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercy of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing unto God, your reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world; but be reformed in the newness of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, and the acceptable, and the perfect will of God.

11 So do you also reckon, that you are dead to sin, but alive unto God, in Christ Jesus our Lord.12 Let no sin therefore reign in your mortal body, so as to obey the lusts thereof.13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of iniquity unto sin; but present yourselves to God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of justice unto God.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin may be destroyed, to the end that we may serve sin no longer.

11 For the grace of God our Savior hath appeared to all men;12 Instructing us, that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, and justly, and godly in this world,

2 That now he may live the rest of his time in the flesh , not after the desires of men, but according to the will of God.3 For the time past is sufficient to have fulfilled the will of the Gentiles, for them who have walked in riotousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and unlawful worshipping of idols.4 Wherein they think it strange, that you run not with them into the same confusion of riotousness, speaking evil of you.5 Who shall render account to him, who is ready to judge the living and the dead.6 For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to the dead: that they might be judged indeed according to men, in the flesh; but may live according to God, in the Spirit.7 But the end of all is at hand. Be prudent therefore, and watch in prayers.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all iniquity.

13 He that hideth his sins, shall not prosper: but he that shall confess, and forsake them, shall obtain mercy.

O corpo como templo

Nosso corpo é templo do Espírito Santo.

19 Or know you not, that your members are the temple of the Holy Ghost, who is in you, whom you have from God; and you are not your own ?

9 Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,10 Nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall possess the kingdom of God.11 And such some of you were; but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of our God.

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury; but be ye filled with the holy Spirit,

1 Wine is a luxurious thing, and drunkenness riotous: whosoever is delighted therewith shell not be wise.

23 Do not still drink water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake, and thy frequent infirmities.

16 For all that is in the world, is the concupiscence of the flesh, and the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life, which is not of the Father, but is of the world.

8 Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour.

13 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt lose its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is good for nothing any more but to be cast out, and to be trodden on by men.

13 And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.

11 For it is written: As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.12 Therefore every one of us shall render account to God for himself.
