A escravidão do pecado
Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
The Truth Shall Make You Free
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
Christian Liberty
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
Resistência e domínio próprio
O fruto do Espírito inclui o domínio próprio.
envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Glorify God in Body and Spirit
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
Glorify God in Body and Spirit
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Humility Cures Worldliness
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
Living Sacrifices to God
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, whichis your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be inthelikeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
Trained by Saving Grace
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. For we havespent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
Serving for God’s Glory
But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
O corpo como templo
Nosso corpo é templo do Espírito Santo.
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit whois in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
Wine is a mocker,
Strong drink is a brawler,
And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.
No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Believers Are Salt and Light
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
For it is written:
"As I live, says the Lord,
Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God."
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
