Walk in Wisdom

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord

Do not fret because of him who *prospers in his way,

Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

For by them You have given me life.

Do Not Worry

25 "Therefore I say to you, *do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?26 *Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

Take Up the Cross and Follow Him

34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, *"Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.35 For *whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?38 *For whoever *is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."

15 And He said to them, *"Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses."

Loving God Under Trials

12 *Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive *the crown of life *which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Heavenly Versus Demonic Wisdom

13 *Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works aredone in the meekness of wisdom.

10 For

*"He who would love life

And see good days,

*Let him refrain his tongue from evil,

And his lips from speaking deceit.

11 Let him *turn away from evil and do good;

*Let him seek peace and pursue it.

6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Everything Has Its Time

1 To everything thereis a season,

A *time for every purpose under heaven:

16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.

12 *"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be *long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

10 The days of our lives are seventy years;

And if by reason of strength theyare eighty years,

Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow;

For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

And what is the measure of my days,

That I may know how frail I am.

5 Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths,

And my age is as nothing before You;

Certainly every man at his best state is but *vapor.

If it is found in the way of righteousness.

So a man’s heart reveals the man.
