Vizinho
31 "The second is this, "Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. Other command greater than these there is none."
14 For the whole Law has been fulfilled in this one precept, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
9 For the Law which says, Thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt do no murder, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness, thou shalt not covet, and whatever other commandment there be - is all summed up in this one saying, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
10 Love never wrongs his neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilment of the Law.
12 "Therefore everything that you would have men do to you, do you also the same to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Amor em ação
O amor verdadeiro se mostra em ações concretas: hospitalidade, generosidade e cuidado com os necessitados ao nosso redor.
1 Let brotherly love continue.2 Do not neglect to show hospitality; for by it some have even entertained angels unawares.
27 and undefiled before our God and Father, to look after orphans and widows in their affliction, and ever to keep himself unspotted from the world.
8 Above everything have fervent love to one another; for love veils a multitude of sins.
10 So then, as we have opportunity, let is do good to all men, but especially to those who are of the household of faith.
11 For this is the message that you have listened to from the beginning, "WE ARE TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER."
34 I give you a new commandment, Love one another!
Edificação e encorajamento mútuo
Somos chamados a encorajar uns aos outros, carregar os fardos alheios e buscar o bem do próximo acima do próprio interesse.
11 So comfort one another, and try to build one another up, as indeed you are doing.
2 Ever be bearing one anothers burdens, and so be fulfilling the law of Christ.
2 Let each one of us try to make his neighbor happy for his good, unto his upbuilding.
24 Let not each one be always seeking his own, but rather his neighbors good.
10 As for brotherly love, be tenderly affectionate one to another, in honor preferring one another.
12 Meanwhile, may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all men, even as I do toward you.
Humildade, perdão e convivência
O relacionamento com o próximo exige humildade, paciência e disposição para perdoar. Não devemos julgar, mas acolher com compaixão.
3 Do nothing out of strife, nothing out of vanity, but let each one in true humility consider the others to be of more account than himself.
13 bearing with one another and forgiving each other, if any one has a grievance against another. Just as Christ the Lord forgave you, so must you forgive.
13 So let us no longer pass judgment on one another; rather let this be your judgment, that no one put a stumbling-block in his brothers way, nor any cause of falling.
1 You are therefore inexcusable, O man, whoever you are, that sits in judgment; for in judging another you are condemning yourself. You, the judge, are habitually practising the very same things.
8 Finally, you should all be harmonious, sympathetic, loving as brothers, tender-hearted, humble-minded;
5 There are some who esteem one day above another; there are others who esteem all days alike; let each other be fully persuaded in his own mind.
