Amar o próximo é um dos mandamentos centrais do evangelho. A Bíblia nos ensina que nossos vizinhos são aqueles a quem devemos servir, apoiar e encorajar com amor genuíno.
O mandamento do amor ao próximo
Jesus resume a Lei no amor a Deus e ao próximo. Amar o vizinho como a si mesmo é cumprir toda a Lei.
And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these."
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if thereis any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

O amor verdadeiro se mostra em ações concretas: hospitalidade, generosidade e cuidado com os necessitados ao nosso redor.
Concluding Moral Directions
Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doingsome have unwittingly entertained angels.
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins."
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
Edificação e encorajamento mútuo
Somos chamados a encorajar uns aos outros, carregar os fardos alheios e buscar o bem do próximo acima do próprio interesse.
Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.
Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you,
Humildade, perdão e convivência
O relacionamento com o próximo exige humildade, paciência e disposição para perdoar. Não devemos julgar, mas acolher com compaixão.
Let nothing bedone through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also mustdo.
Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.
God’s Righteous Judgment
Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
Called to Blessing
Finally, all ofyoube of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;
One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.
"To him who is afflicted, kindness shouldbeshown by his friend,
Even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
