1 E naquele tempo se levantará Miguel, o grande príncipe, que se levanta a favor dos filhos do teu povo, e haverá um tempo de angústia, qual nunca houve, desde que houve nação até àquele tempo; mas naquele tempo livrar-se-á o teu povo, todo aquele que for achado escrito no livro.2 E muitos dos que dormem no pó da terra ressuscitarão, uns para vida eterna, e outros para vergonha e desprezo eterno.3 Os que forem sábios, pois, resplandecerão como o fulgor do firmamento; e os que a muitos ensinam a justiça, como as estrelas sempre e eternamente.4 E tu, Daniel, encerra estas palavras e sela este livro, até ao fim do tempo; muitos correrão de uma parte para outra, e o conhecimento se multiplicará.5 Então eu, Daniel, olhei, e eis que estavam em pé outros dois, um deste lado, à beira do rio, e o outro do outro lado, à beira do rio.6 E ele disse ao homem vestido de linho, que estava sobre as águas do rio: Quando será o fim destas maravilhas?7 E ouvi o homem vestido de linho, que estava sobre as águas do rio, o qual levantou ao céu a sua mão direita e a sua mão esquerda, e jurou por aquele que vive eternamente que isso seria para um tempo, tempos e metade do tempo, e quando tiverem acabado de espalhar o poder do povo santo, todas estas coisas serão cumpridas.8 Eu, pois, ouvi, mas não entendi; por isso eu disse: Senhor meu, qual será o fim destas coisas?9 E ele disse: Vai, Daniel, porque estas palavras estão fechadas e seladas até ao tempo do fim.10 Muitos serão purificados, e embranquecidos, e provados; mas os ímpios procederão impiamente, e nenhum dos ímpios entenderá, mas os sábios entenderão.11 E desde o tempo em que o sacrifício contínuo for tirado, e posta a abominação desoladora, haverá mil duzentos e noventa dias.12 Bem-aventurado o que espera e chega até mil trezentos e trinta e cinco dias.13 Tu, porém, vai até ao fim; porque descansarás, e te levantarás na tua herança, no fim dos dias.

1 And at that time will Michael, the great prince who standeth for the children of thy people, stand forth; and there will be a time of distress, such as hath never been since the existence of any nation, until that same time; and at that time shall thy people be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.2 And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to disgrace and everlasting abhorrence.3 And the intelligent shall shine brilliantly like the brilliance of the expanse of the sky; and they that bring many to righteousness shall be like the stars, for ever and ever.4 But thou, O Daniel, close up the words, and seal the book, until the time of the end: many will roam about, yet shall knowledge be increased.5 Then I Daniel looked, and behold, there were two others standing, the one on this side of the bank of the stream, and the other on that side of the bank of the stream.6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?7 Then heard I the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; and he lifted up his right hand and his left hand unto the heavens, and swore by the Everliving One that after a time, times, and a half, and when there shall be an end to the crushing of the power of the holy people, all these things shall be ended.8 And I heard indeed, but I understood it not: then said I, O my lord, what shall be the end of these things?9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel; for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.10 Many shall be selected and cleansed, and purified; but the wicked will deal wickedly, and none of the wicked will understand: but the intelligent will understand.11 And from the time that the continual sacrifice will be removed, even to set up the desolating abomination, there will be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.12 Happy is he that waiteth, and attaineth to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.13 But thou, go thy way toward the end; and thou shalt rest, and arise again for thy lot at the end of the days.
