A sorte que coube à tribo dos filhos de Judá, segundo as suas famílias, foi até ao termo de Edom, o deserto de Zim, para o sul, na extremidade do lado meridional. 
E foi o seu termo para o sul, desde a extremidade do Mar Salgado, desde a baía que olha para o sul; 
E sai para o sul, até à subida de Acrabim, e passa a Zim, e sobe do sul a Cades-Barnéia, e passa por Hezrom, e sobe a Adar, e vira para Carca; 
E passa Azmom, e sai ao ribeiro do Egito, e as saídas deste termo vão até ao mar; este será o vosso termo do lado do sul. 
O termo, porém, para o oriente será o Mar Salgado, até à foz do Jordão; e o termo para o norte será da baía do mar, desde a foz do Jordão. 
E este termo subirá até Bete-Hogla, e passará do norte a Bete-Arabá, e este termo subirá até à pedra de Boã, filho de Rúben. 
Subirá mais este termo a Debir desde o vale de Acor, indo para o norte rumo a Gilgal, a qual está em frente da subida de Adumim, que está para o sul do ribeiro; então este termo continua até às águas de En-Semes; e as suas saídas estão do lado de En-Rogel. 
E este termo sobe pelo vale do filho de Hinom, do lado sul dos jebuseus (esta é Jerusalém) e sobe este termo até ao cume do monte que está diante do vale de Hinom para o ocidente, que está no fim do vale dos refains do lado do norte. 
Então este termo vai desde a altura do monte até à fonte das águas de Neftoa; e sai até às cidades do monte de Efrom; vai mais este termo até Baalá (esta é Quiriate-Jearim). 
Então volta este termo desde Baalá para o ocidente, até às montanhas de Seir, e passa ao lado do monte de Jearim do lado do norte (esta é Quesalom) e desce a Bete-Semes, e passa por Timna; 
Sai este termo mais ao lado de Ecrom, para o norte, e este termo vai a Sicrom e passa o monte de Baalá, e sai em Jabneel; e assim este termo finda no mar. 
Será, porém, o termo do lado do ocidente o Mar Grande, e suas adjacências; este é o termo dos filhos de Judá ao redor, segundo as suas famílias. 
Mas a Calebe, filho de Jefoné, deu uma parte no meio dos filhos de Judá, conforme a ordem do Senhor a Josué; a saber, a cidade de Arba, que é Hebrom; este Arba era pai de Anaque. 
E Calebe expulsou dali os três filhos de Anaque: Sesai, e Aimã, e Talmai, gerados de Anaque. 
E dali subiu aos habitantes de Debir; e fora antes o nome de Debir, Quiriate-Sefer. 
E disse Calebe: Quem ferir a Quiriate-Sefer, e a tomar, lhe darei a minha filha Acsa por mulher. 
Tomou-a, pois, Otniel, filho de Quenaz, irmão de Calebe; e deu-lhe a sua filha Acsa por mulher. 
E sucedeu que, vindo ela a ele, o persuadiu que pedisse um campo a seu pai; e ela desceu do seu jumento; então Calebe lhe disse: Que é que tens? 
E ela disse: Dá-me uma bênção; pois me deste terra seca, dá-me também fontes de águas. Então lhe deu as fontes superiores e as fontes inferiores. 
Esta é a herança da tribo dos filhos de Judá, segundo as suas famílias. 
São, pois, as cidades da tribo dos filhos de Judá, até ao termo de Edom, no extremo sul: Cabzeel, e Eder, e Jagur. 
E Quiná, e Dimona, e Adada, 
E Quedes, e Hazor, e Itnã, 
Zife, e Telem, e Bealote, 
E Hazor-Hadata, e Queriote-Hezrom (que é Hazor), 
Amã e Sema, e Moladá, 
E Hazar-Gada, e Hesmom, e Bete-Palete, 
E Hazar-Sual, e Berseba, e Biziotiá, 
Baalá, e Iim, e Azem, 
E Eltolade, e Quesil, e Hormá. 
E Ziclague, e Madmana, e Sansana, 
E Lebaote, e Silim, e Aim, e Rimom; todas as cidades e as suas aldeias, vinte e nove. 
Nas planícies: Estaol, e Zorá, e Asná, 
E Zanoa, e En-Ganim, Tapua, e Enã. 
E Jarmute, e Adulão, Socó, e Azeca, 
E Saaraim, e Aditaim, e Gederá, e Gederotaim; catorze cidades e as suas aldeias. 
Zenã, e Hadasa, e Migdal-Gade, 
E Dileã, e Mizpe, e Jocteel, 
Laquis, e Bozcate, e Eglom, 
E Cabom, e Laamás, e Quitlis, 
E Gederote, Bete-Dagom, e Naamá, e Maquedá, dezesseis cidades e as suas aldeias. 
Libna, e Eter, e Asã, 
E Iftá, e Asná, e Nezibe, 
E Queila, e Aczibe, e Maressa; nove cidades e as suas aldeias. 
Ecrom, com suas vilas, e as suas aldeias. 
Desde Ecrom, e até ao mar, todas as que estão do lado de Asdode, e as suas aldeias. 
Asdode, com as suas vilas e as suas aldeias; Gaza, com as suas vilas e as suas aldeias, até ao rio do Egito, e o Mar Grande e o seu termo. 
E nas montanhas: Samir, Jatir, e Socó. 
E Daná, e Quiriate-Saná (que é Debir), 
E Anabe, Estemó, e Anim, 
E Gósen, e Holom, e Giló; onze cidades e as suas aldeias. 
Arabe, e Dumá e Esã, 
E Janim, e Bete-Tapua e Afeca, 
E Hunta, e Quiriate-Arba (que é Hebrom), e Zior; nove cidades e as suas aldeias. 
Maom, Carmelo, e Zife, e Jutá, 
E Jizreel, e Jocdeão, e Zanoa, 
Caim, Gibeá, e Timna; dez cidades e as suas aldeias. 
Halul, Bete-Zur, e Gedor, 
E Maarate, e Bete-Anote, e Eltecom; seis cidades e as suas aldeias. 
Quiriate-Baal (que é Quiriate-Jearim), e Rabá; duas cidades e as suas aldeias. 
No deserto: Bete-Arabá, Midim, e Secacá, 
E Nibsã, e a Cidade do Sal, e En-Gedi; seis cidades e as suas aldeias. 
Não puderam, porém, os filhos de Judá expulsar os jebuseus que habitavam em Jerusalém; assim habitaram os jebuseus com os filhos de Judá em Jerusalém, até ao dia de hoje. 

The allotment for the tribe of Judah, according to its clans, extended down to the territory of Edom, to the Desert of Zin in the extreme south. 
Their southern boundary started from the bay at the southern end of the Dead Sea, 
crossed south of Scorpion Pass, continued on to Zin and went over to the south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it ran past Hezron up to Addar and curved around to Karka. 
It then passed along to Azmon and joined the Wadi of Egypt, ending at the Mediterranean Sea. This is their "southern boundary. 
The eastern boundary is the Dead Sea as far as the mouth of the Jordan. The northern boundary started from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan, 
went up to Beth Hoglah and continued north of Beth Arabah to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben. 
The boundary then went up to Debir from the Valley of Achor and turned north to Gilgal, which faces the Pass of Adummim south of the gorge. It continued along to the waters of En Shemesh and came out at En Rogel. 
Then it ran up the Valley of Ben Hinnom along the southern slope of the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem). From there it climbed to the top of the hill west of the Hinnom Valley at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim. 
From the hilltop the boundary headed toward the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, came out at the towns of Mount Ephron and went down toward Baalah (that is, Kiriath Jearim). 
Then it curved westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, ran along the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Kesalon), continued down to Beth Shemesh and crossed to Timnah. 
It went to the northern slope of Ekron, turned toward Shikkeron, passed along to Mount Baalah and reached Jabneel. The boundary ended at the sea. 
The western boundary is the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea. These are the boundaries around the people of Judah by their clans. 
In accordance with the LORD's command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah —Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.) 
From Hebron Caleb drove out the three Anakites —Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai, the sons of Anak. 
From there he marched against the people living in Debir (formerly called Kiriath Sepher). 
And Caleb said, "I will give my daughter Aksah in marriage to the man who attacks and captures Kiriath Sepher." 
Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb's brother, took it; so Caleb gave his daughter Aksah to him in marriage. 
One day when she came to Othniel, she urged him "to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, "What can I do for you?" 
She replied, "Do me a special favor. Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me also springs of water." So Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs. 
This is the inheritance of the tribe of Judah, according to its clans: 
The southernmost towns of the tribe of Judah in the Negev toward the boundary of Edom were: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur, 
Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah, 
Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan, 
Ziph, Telem, Bealoth, 
Hazor Hadattah, Kerioth Hezron (that is, Hazor), 
Amam, Shema, Moladah, 
Hazar Gaddah, Heshmon, Beth Pelet, 
Hazar Shual, Beersheba, Biziothiah, 
Baalah, Iyim, Ezem, 
Eltolad, Kesil, Hormah, 
Ziklag, Madmannah, Sansannah, 
Lebaoth, Shilhim, Ain and Rimmon —a total of twenty-nine towns and their villages. 
In the western foothills: Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah, 
Zanoah, En Gannim, Tappuah, Enam, 
Jarmuth, Adullam, Sokoh, Azekah, 
Shaaraim, Adithaim and Gederah (or Gederothaim) "—fourteen towns and their villages. 
Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal Gad, 
Dilean, Mizpah, Joktheel, 
Lachish, Bozkath, Eglon, 
Kabbon, Lahmas, Kitlish, 
Gederoth, Beth Dagon, Naamah and Makkedah —sixteen towns and their villages. 
Libnah, Ether, Ashan, 
Iphtah, Ashnah, Nezib, 
Keilah, Akzib and Mareshah —nine towns and their villages. 
Ekron, with its surrounding settlements and villages; 
west of Ekron, all that were in the vicinity of Ashdod, together with their villages; 
Ashdod, its surrounding settlements and villages; and Gaza, its settlements and villages, as far as the Wadi of Egypt and the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea. 
In the hill country: Shamir, Jattir, Sokoh, 
Dannah, Kiriath Sannah (that is, Debir), 
Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim, 
Goshen, Holon and Giloh —eleven towns and their villages. 
Arab, Dumah, Eshan, 
Janim, Beth Tappuah, Aphekah, 
Humtah, Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) and Zior —nine towns and their villages. 
Maon, Carmel, Ziph, Juttah, 
Jezreel, Jokdeam, Zanoah, 
Kain, Gibeah and Timnah —ten towns and their villages. 
Halhul, Beth Zur, Gedor, 
Maarath, Beth Anoth and Eltekon —six towns and their villages. [^4] 
Kiriath Baal (that is, Kiriath Jearim) and Rabbah —two towns and their villages. 
In the wilderness: Beth Arabah, Middin, Sekakah, 
Nibshan, the City of Salt and En Gedi —six towns and their villages. 
Judah could not dislodge the Jebusites, who were living in Jerusalem; to this day the Jebusites live there with the people of Judah.
