1 No vigésimo sétimo ano de Jeroboão, rei de Israel, começou a reinar Azarias, filho de Amazias, rei de Judá. 2 Tinha dezesseis anos quando começou a reinar e cinquenta e dois anos reinou em Jerusalém. Era o nome de sua mãe Jecolias, de Jerusalém. 3 Ele fez o que era reto perante o Senhor, segundo tudo o que fizera Amazias, seu pai. 4 Tão somente os altos não se tiraram; o povo ainda sacrificava e queimava incenso nos altos.

5 O Senhor feriu ao rei, e este ficou leproso até ao dia da sua morte e habitava numa casa separada. Jotão, filho do rei, tinha o cargo da casa e governava o povo da terra. 6 Ora, os mais atos de Azarias e tudo o que fez, porventura, não estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá? 7 Descansou Azarias com seus pais, e o sepultaram junto a seus pais, na Cidade de Davi; e Jotão, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

8 No trigésimo oitavo ano de Azarias, rei de Judá, reinou Zacarias, filho de Jeroboão, sobre Israel, em Samaria, seis meses. 9 Fez o que era mau perante o Senhor, como tinham feito seus pais; não se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que fez pecar a Israel. 10 Salum, filho de Jabes, conspirou contra ele, feriu-o diante do povo, matou-o e reinou em seu lugar. 11 Quanto aos mais atos de Zacarias, eis que estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel. 12 Esta foi a palavra que o Senhor falou a Jeú: Teus filhos, até à quarta geração, se assentarão no trono de Israel. E assim sucedeu.

13 Salum, filho de Jabes, começou a reinar no trigésimo nono ano de Uzias, rei de Judá; e reinou durante um mês em Samaria. 14 Subindo de Tirza, Menaém, filho de Gadi, veio a Samaria, feriu ali a Salum, filho de Jabes, matou-o e reinou em seu lugar. 15 Quanto aos mais atos de Salum e a conspiração que fez, eis que estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel. 16 Então, Menaém feriu a Tifsa e todos os que nela havia, como também seus limites desde Tirza. Porque não lha abriram, a devastou e todas as mulheres grávidas fez rasgar pelo ventre.

17 Desde o trigésimo nono ano de Azarias, rei de Judá, Menaém, filho de Gadi, começou a reinar sobre Israel e reinou dez anos em Samaria. 18 Fez o que era mau perante o Senhor; todos os seus dias, não se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que fez pecar a Israel. 19 Então, veio Pul, rei da Assíria, contra a terra; Menaém deu a Pul mil talentos de prata, para que este o ajudasse a consolidar o seu reino. 20 Menaém arrecadou este dinheiro de Israel para pagar ao rei da Assíria, de todos os poderosos e ricos, cinquenta siclos de prata por cabeça; assim, voltou o rei da Assíria e não se demorou ali na terra. 21 Quanto aos mais atos de Menaém e a tudo quanto fez, porventura, não estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel? 22 Descansou Menaém com seus pais; e Pecaías, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

23 No quinquagésimo ano de Azarias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar Pecaías, filho de Menaém; e reinou sobre Israel, em Samaria, dois anos. 24 Fez o que era mau perante o Senhor; não se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que fez pecar a Israel. 25 Peca, seu capitão, filho de Remalias, conspirou contra ele e o feriu em Samaria, na fortaleza da casa do rei, juntamente com Argobe e com Arié; com Peca estavam cinquenta homens dos gileaditas; Peca o matou e reinou em seu lugar. 26 Quanto aos mais atos de Pecaías e a tudo quanto fez, eis que estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel.

27 No quinquagésimo segundo ano de Azarias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar Peca, filho de Remalias, e reinou sobre Israel, em Samaria, vinte anos. 28 Fez o que era mau perante o Senhor; não se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que fez pecar a Israel.

29 Nos dias de Peca, rei de Israel, veio Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, e tomou a Ijom, a Abel-Bete-Maaca, a Janoa, a Quedes, a Hazor, a Gileade e à Galileia, a toda a terra de Naftali, e levou os seus habitantes para a Assíria. 30 Oseias, filho de Elá, conspirou contra Peca, filho de Remalias, e o feriu, e o matou, e reinou em seu lugar, no vigésimo ano de Jotão, filho de Uzias. 31 Quanto aos mais atos de Peca e a tudo quanto fez, eis que estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel.

32 No ano segundo de Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, começou a reinar Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá. 33 Tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém. Era o nome de sua mãe Jerusa, filha de Zadoque. 34 Fez o que era reto perante o Senhor; e em tudo procedeu segundo fizera Uzias, seu pai. 35 Tão somente os altos não se tiraram; o povo ainda sacrificava e queimava incenso nos altos. Ele edificou a Porta de Cima da Casa do Senhor. 36 Quanto aos mais atos de Jotão e a tudo quanto fez, porventura, não estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá? 37 Naqueles dias, começou o Senhor a enviar contra Judá a Rezim, rei da Síria, e a Peca, filho de Remalias. 38 Descansou Jotão com seus pais e foi sepultado junto a seus pais, na Cidade de Davi, seu pai. Em seu lugar reinou Acaz, seu filho.

1 In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother' name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;

4 Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.

5 And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and dwelled in a several house. And Jotham the king' son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

7 So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

8 In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.

9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

11 And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

12 This was the word of the LORD which he spoke to Jehu, saying, Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.

13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

15 And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

16 Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.

17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.

18 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

19 And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

20 And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

21 And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

22 And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.

24 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

25 But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king' house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.

26 And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

27 In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.

28 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

31 And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

33 Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother' name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.

34 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

35 However, the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.

36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

37 In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
