1 بولس رسول يسوع المسيح بحسب امر الله مخلّصنا وربنا يسوع المسيح رجائنا2 الى تيموثاوس الابن الصريح في الايمان نعمة ورحمة وسلام من الله ابينا والمسيح يسوع ربنا3 كما طلبت اليك ان تمكث في افسس اذ كنت انا ذاهبا الى مكدونية لكي توصي قوما ان لا يعلّموا تعليما آخر4 ولا يصغوا الى خرافات وانساب لا حد لها تسبب مباحثات دون بنيان الله الذي في الايمان.5 واما غاية الوصية فهي المحبة من قلب طاهر وضمير صالح وايمان بلا رياء.6 الامور التي اذ زاغ قوم عنها انحرفوا الى كلام باطل7 يريدون ان يكونوا معلمي الناموس وهم لا يفهمون ما يقولون ولا ما يقررونه.8 ولكننا نعلم ان الناموس صالح ان كان احد يستعمله ناموسيا9 عالما هذا ان الناموس لم يوضع للبار بل للأثمة والمتمردين للفجّار والخطاة للدنسين والمستبيحين لقاتلي الآباء وقاتلي الامهات لقاتلي الناس10 للزناة لمضاجعي الذكور لسارقي الناس للكذابين للحانثين وان كان شيء آخر يقاوم التعليم الصحيح11 حسب انجيل مجد الله المبارك الذي اؤتمنت انا عليه.12 وانا اشكر المسيح يسوع ربنا الذي قواني انه حسبني امينا اذ جعلني للخدمة13 انا الذي كنت قبلا مجدفا ومضطهدا ومفتريا. ولكنني رحمت لاني فعلت بجهل في عدم ايمان14 وتفاضلت نعمة ربنا جدا مع الايمان والمحبة التي في المسيح يسوع.15 صادقة هي الكلمة ومستحقة كل قبول ان المسيح يسوع جاء الى العالم ليخلّص الخطاة الذين اولهم انا.16 لكنني لهذا رحمت ليظهر يسوع المسيح فيّ انا اولا كل اناة مثالا للعتيدين ان يؤمنوا به للحياة الابدية.17 وملك الدهور الذي لا يفنى ولا يرى الاله الحكيم وحده له الكرامة والمجد الى دهر الدهور. آمين18 هذه الوصية ايها الابن تيموثاوس استودعك اياها حسب النبوات التي سبقت عليك لكي تحارب فيها المحاربة الحسنة19 ولك ايمان وضمير صالح الذي اذ رفضه قوم انكسرت بهم السفينة من جهة الايمان ايضا20 الذين منهم هيمينايس والاسكندر اللذان اسلمتهما للشيطان لكي يؤدبا حتى لا يجدفا

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Savior, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;2 To Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.3 As I sought you to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that you might charge some that they teach no other doctrine,4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:6 From which some having swerved have turned aside to vain jangling;7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for murderers,10 For fornicators, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for enslavers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.16 However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on you, that you by them might war a good warfare;19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered to Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
