1 ولما بني السور واقمت المصاريع وترتب البوابون والمغنون واللاويون2 اقمت حناني اخي وحننيا رئيس القصر على اورشليم لانه كان رجلا امينا يخاف الله اكثر من كثيرين.3 وقلت لهما لا تفتح ابواب اورشليم حتى تحمى الشمس وما داموا وقوفا فليغلقوا المصاريع ويقفلوها. وأقيم حراسات من سكان اورشليم كل واحد على حراسته وكل واحد مقابل بيته.4 وكانت المدينة واسعة الجناب وعظيمة والشعب قليلا في وسطها ولم تكن البيوت قد بنيت5 فألهمني الهي ان اجمع العظماء والولاة والشعب لاجل الانتساب. فوجدت سفر انتساب الذين صعدوا اولا ووجدت مكتوبا فيه6 هؤلاء هم بنو الكورة الصاعدون من سبي المسبيين الذين سباهم نبوخذناصّر ملك بابل ورجعوا الى اورشليم ويهوذا كل واحد الى مدينته7 الذين جاءوا مع زربابل يشوع نحميا عزريا رعميا نحماني مردخاي بلشان مسفارث بغواي نحوم وبعنة. عدد رجال شعب اسرائيل.8 بنو فرعوش الفان ومئة واثنان وسبعون.9 بنو شفطيا ثلاث مئة واثنان وسبعون.10 بنو آرح ست مئة واثنان وخمسون.11 بنو فحث موآب من بني يشوع ويوآب الفان وثمان مئة وثمانية عشر.12 بنو عيلام الف ومئتان واربعة وخمسون.13 بنو زتو ثمان مئة وخمسة واربعون.14 بنو زكاي سبع مئة وستون.15 بنو بنوي ست مئة وثمانية واربعون.16 بنو باباي ست مئة وثمانية وعشرون.17 بنو عزجد الفان وثلاث مئة واثنان وعشرون.18 بنو ادونيقام ست مئة وسبعة وستون.19 بنو بغواي الفان وسبعة وستون.20 بنو عادين ست مئة وخمسة وخمسون.21 بنو اطّير لحزقيا ثمانية وتسعون.22 بنو حشوم ثلاث مئة وثمانية وعشرون.23 بنو بيصاي ثلاث مئة واربعة وعشرون.24 بنو حاريف مئة واثنا عشر.25 بنو جبعون خمسة وتسعون.26 رجال بيت لحم ونطوفة مئة وثمانية وثمانون.27 رجال عناثوث مئة وثمانية وعشرون.28 رجال بيت عزموت اثنان واربعون.29 رجال قرية يعاريم كفيرة وبئيروت سبع مئة وثلاثة واربعون.30 رجال الرامة وجبع ست مئة وواحد وعشرون.31 رجال مخماس مئة واثنان وعشرون.32 رجال بيت ايل وعاي مئة وثلاثة وعشرون.33 رجال نبو الاخرى اثنان وخمسون.34 بنو عيلام الآخر الف ومئتان واربعة وخمسون.35 بنو حاريم ثلاث مئة وعشرون.36 بنو اريحا ثلاث مئة وخمسة واربعون.37 بنو لود بنو حاديد واونو سبع مئة وواحد وعشرون.38 بنو سناءة ثلاثة آلاف وتسع مئة وثلاثون.39 اما الكهنة فبنو يدعيا من بيت يشوع تسع مئة وثلاثة وسبعون.40 بنو امّير الف واثنان وخمسون.41 بنو فشحور الف ومئتان وسبعة واربعون.42 بنو حاريم الف وسبعة عشر.43 اما اللاويون فبنو يشوع لقدميئيل من بني هودويا اربعة وسبعون.44 المغنون بنو آساف مئة وثمانية واربعون45 البوابون بنو شلوم بنو آطير بنو طلمون بنو عقّوب بنو حطيطا بنو شوباي مئة وثمانية وثلاثون46 النثينيم بنو صيحا بنو حسوفا بنو طباعوت47 بنو قيروس بنو سيعا بنو فادون48 وبنو لبانة وبنو حجابة بنو سلماي49 بنو حانان بنو جديل بنو جاحر50 بنو رآيا بنو رصين وبنو نقودا51 بنو جزّام بنو عزّا بنو فاسيح52 بنو بيساي بنو معونيم بنو نفيشسيم53 بنو بقبوق بنو حقوفا بنو حرحور54 بنو بصليت بنو محيدا بنو حرشا55 بنو برقوس بنو سيسرا بنو تامح56 بنو نصيح بنو حطيفا57 بنو عبيد سليمان بنو سوطاي بنو سوفرث بنو فريدا58 بنو يعلا بنو درقون بنو جدّيل59 بنو شفطيا بنو حطّيل بنو فوخرة الظباء بنو آمون.60 كل النثينيم وبني عبيد سليمان ثلاث مئة واثنان وتسعون61 وهؤلاء هم الذين صعدوا من تل ملح وتل حرشا كروب وادون وامّير. ولم يستطيعوا ان يبيّنوا بيوت آبائهم ونسلهم هل هم من اسرائيل.62 بنو دلايا بنو طوبيا بنو نقودا ست مئة واثنان واربعون.63 ومن الكهنة بنو حبابا بنو هقوص بنو برزلاي الذي اخذ امرأة من بنات برزلاي الجلعادي وتسمى باسمهم.64 هؤلاء فحصوا عن كتابة انسابهم فلم توجد فرذلوا من الكهنوت.65 وقال لهم الترشاثا ان لا يأكلوا من قدس الاقداس حتى يقوم كاهن للاوريم والتمّيم.66 كل الجمهور معا اربع ربوات والفان وثلاث مئة وستون67 فضلا عن عبيدهم وامائهم الذين كانوا سبعة آلاف وثلاث مئة وسبعة وثلاثين. ولهم من المغنّين والمغنيات مئتان وخمسة واربعون.68 وخيلهم سبع مئة وستة وثلاثون وبغالهم مئتان وخمسة واربعون69 والجمال اربع مئة وخمسة وثلاثون والحمير ستة آلاف وسبع مئة وعشرون70 والبعض من رؤوس الآباء اعطوا للعمل. الترشاثا اعطى للخزينة الف درهم من الذهب وخمسين منضحة وخمس مئة وثلاثين قميصا للكهنة.71 والبعض من رؤوس الآباء اعطوا لخزينة العمل ربوتين من الذهب والفين ومئتي منا من الفضة.72 وما اعطاه بقية الشعب ست ربوات من الذهب والفي منا من الفضة وسبعة وستون قميصا للكهنة.73 واقام الكهنة واللاويون والبوابون والمغنون وبعض الشعب والنثينيم وكل اسرائيل في مدنهم ولما استهل الشهر السابع وبنو اسرائيل في مدنهم

1 Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,2 That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.3 And I said to them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against his house.4 Now the city was large and great: but the people were few therein, and the houses were not built.5 And my God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of them which came up at the first, and found written therein,6 These are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one to his city;7 Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number, I say, of the men of the people of Israel was this;8 The children of Parosh, two thousand an hundred seventy and two.9 The children of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy and two.10 The children of Arah, six hundred fifty and two.11 The children of Pahathmoab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand and eight hundred and eighteen.12 The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.13 The children of Zattu, eight hundred forty and five.14 The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and three score.15 The children of Binnui, six hundred forty and eight.16 The children of Bebai, six hundred twenty and eight.17 The children of Azgad, two thousand three hundred twenty and two.18 The children of Adonikam, six hundred three score and seven.19 The children of Uzza, the children of Phaseah,52 The children of Besai, the children of Meunim, the children of Nephishesim,53 The children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,54 The children of Bazlith, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,55 The children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Tamah,56 The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.57 The children of Solomon' servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Perida,58 The children of Jaala, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,59 The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Amon.60 All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon' servants, were three hundred ninety and two.61 And these were they which went up also from Telmelah, Telharesha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer: but they could not show their father' house, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel.62 The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred forty and two.63 And of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai, which took one of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife, and was called after their name.64 These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.65 And the Tirshatha said to them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and Thummim.66 The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and three score,67 Beside their manservants and their maidservants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and they had two hundred forty and five singing men and singing women.68 Their horses, seven hundred thirty and six: their mules, two hundred forty and five:69 Their camels, four hundred thirty and five: six thousand seven hundred and twenty asses.70 And some of the chief of the fathers gave to the work. The Tirshatha gave to the treasure a thousand drams of gold, fifty basins, five hundred and thirty priests'garments.71 And some of the chief of the fathers gave to the treasure of the work twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pound of silver.72 And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand pound of silver, and three score and seven priests'garments.73 So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelled in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.
