Isaías 15

1 The burden of Moab.

For in a night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to nought; for in a night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to nought. 2 They are gone up to Bayith, and to Dibon, to the high places, to weep: Moab waileth over Nebo, and over Medeba; on all their heads is baldness, every beard is cut off. 3 In their streets they gird themselves with sackcloth; on their housetops, and in their broad places, every one waileth, weeping abundantly. 4 And Heshbon crieth out, and Elealeh; their voice is heard even unto Jahaz: therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud; his soul trembleth within him. 5 My heart crieth out for Moab; her nobles flee unto Zoar, to Eglath-shelishi-yah: for by the ascent of Luhith with weeping they go up; for in the way of Horonaim they raise up a cry of destruction. 6 For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate; for the grass is withered away, the tender grass faileth, there is no green thing. 7 Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, shall they carry away over the brook of the willows. 8 For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the wailing thereof unto Eglaim, and the wailing thereof unto Beer-elim. 9 For the waters of Dimon are full of blood; for I will bring yet more upon Dimon, a lion upon them of Moab that escape, and upon the remnant of the land.

2 Subió á Bayith y á ✝15.2 Nm. 21.30.Dibón, lugares altos, á llorar; sobre ✝15.2 Nm. 32.3.Nebo y sobre ✝15.2 1 Cr. 19.7.Medeba aullará Moab: ✝15.2 cp. 3.24. Jer. 48.37.toda cabeza de ella será raída, y toda barba se mesará.

3 Ceñiránse de sacos en sus plazas: en sus terrados y en sus calles aullarán todos, descendiendo en llanto.

4 Hesbón ✝15.4 cp. 16.9.y Eleale gritarán, hasta ✝15.4 Jer. 48.34.Jahas se oirá su voz: por lo que aullarán los armados de Moab, lamentaráse el alma de cada uno de por sí.

5 Mi corazón dará gritos por Moab; sus fugitivos huirán hasta Zoar, ✝15.5 Jer. 48.34.como novilla de tres años. Por la cuesta de Luhith subirán llorando, y levantarán grito de quebrantamiento por el camino de Horonaim.

6 Las aguas de Nimrim ✝15.6 Nm. 32.3,36.serán consumidas, y secaráse la hierba, marchitaránse los retoños, todo verdor perecerá.

7 Por tanto las riquezas que habrán adquirido, y las que habrán reservado, llevaránlas al torrente de los sauces.

8 Porque el llanto rodeó los términos de Moab; hasta Eglaim llegó su alarido, y hasta ✝15.8 Nm. 21.16-18.Beer-elim su clamor.

9 Y las aguas de ✝15.9 ver. 2Dimón se henchirán de sangre: porque yo pondré sobre Dimón añadiduras, ✝15.9 Nah. 2.11-13.leones á los que escaparen de Moab, y á las reliquias de la tierra.
