1 These are the statutes and the ordinances which ye shall observe to do in the land which Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, hath given thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth. 2 Ye shall surely destroy all the places wherein the nations that ye shall dispossess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: 3 and ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and burn their Asherim with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods; and ye shall destroy their name out of that place. 4 Ye shall not do so unto Jehovah your God. 5 But unto the place which Jehovah your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come; 6 and thither ye shall bring your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill-offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock: 7 and there ye shall eat before Jehovah your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee. 8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes; 9 for ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee. 10 But when ye go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which Jehovah your God causeth you to inherit, and he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety; 11 then it shall come to pass that to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, thither shall ye bring all that I command you: your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto Jehovah. 12 And ye shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your men-servants, and your maid-servants, and the Levite that is within your gates, forasmuch as he hath no portion nor inheritance with you. 13 Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt-offerings in every place that thou seest; 14 but in the place which Jehovah shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.

15 Notwithstanding, thou mayest kill and eat flesh within all thy gates, after all the desire of thy soul, according to the blessing of Jehovah thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the gazelle, and as of the hart. 16 Only ye shall not eat the blood; thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water. 17 Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy grain, or of thy new wine, or of thine oil, or the firstlings of thy herd or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill-offerings, nor the heave-offering of thy hand; 18 but thou shalt eat them before Jehovah thy God in the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before Jehovah thy God in all that thou puttest thy hand unto. 19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest in thy land.

20 When Jehovah thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul desireth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, after all the desire of thy soul. 21 If the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to put his name there, be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which Jehovah hath given thee, as I have commanded thee; and thou mayest eat within thy gates, after all the desire of thy soul. 22 Even as the gazelle and as the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat thereof: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof alike. 23 Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou shalt not eat the life with the flesh. 24 Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water. 25 Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah. 26 Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which Jehovah shall choose; 27 and thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of Jehovah thy God; and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of Jehovah thy God; and thou shalt eat the flesh. 28 Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.

29 When Jehovah thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest in to dispossess them, and thou dispossessest them, and dwellest in their land; 30 take heed to thyself that thou be not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How do these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. 31 Thou shalt not do so unto Jehovah thy God: for every abomination to Jehovah, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods.

32 What thing soever I command you, that shall ye observe to do: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

4 Voi să nu*Vers. 31. faceți așa față de Domnul Dumnezeul vostru! 5 Ci să-L căutați la locașul Lui și să mergeți la locul pe care-l va*Vers. 11. Cap. 26:2.Ios. 9:27.1 Împ. 8:29.2 Cron. 7:12.Ps. 78:68. alege Domnul Dumnezeul vostru din toate semințiile voastre, ca să-Și așeze acolo Numele Lui. 6 Acolo*Lev. 17:3,4. să vă aduceți arderile-de-tot, jertfele voastre, zeciuielile*Vers. 17. Cap. 14:22,23;15:19,20. voastre, cele dintâi roade, darurile aduse ca împlinire a unei juruințe, darurile de bunăvoie și întâii născuți din cirezile și turmele voastre. 7 Acolo*Cap. 14:26. să mâncați înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului vostru și să vă*Vers. 12:12,18.Lev. 23:40. Cap. 16:11,14,15;26:11;27:7. bucurați, împreună cu familiile voastre, de toate bunurile cu care vă va fi binecuvântat Domnul Dumnezeul vostru. 8 Să nu faceți dar cum facem noi acum aici, unde fiecare face*Jud. 17:6;21:25. ce-i place, 9 fiindcă n-ați ajuns încă în locul de odihnă și în moștenirea pe care v-o dă Domnul Dumnezeul vostru. 10 Dar veți trece*Cap. 11:31. Iordanul și veți locui în țara pe care v-o va da în stăpânire Domnul Dumnezeul vostru. El vă va da odihnă, după ce vă va izbăvi de toți vrăjmașii voștri care vă înconjoară, și veți locui fără frică. 11 Atunci va fi un loc*Vers. 5,14,18,21,26. Acolo să aduceți tot ce vă poruncesc, arderile-de-tot, jertfele, zeciuielile, cele dintâi roade și darurile alese pe care le veți face Domnului pentru împlinirea juruințelor voastre. 12 Acolo să vă*Vers. 7. bucurați înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului vostru voi, fiii voștri și fiicele voastre, robii și roabele voastre și levitul care va fi în locurile voastre, căci el n-are*Cap. 10:9;14:29. nici parte de moșie, nici moștenire cu voi. 13 Vezi să*Lev. 17:4. nu-ți aduci arderile-de-tot în toate locurile pe care le vei vedea, 14 ci să-ți*Vers. 11. aduci arderile-de-tot în locul pe care-l va alege Domnul în una din semințiile tale și acolo să faci tot ce-ți poruncesc eu. 15 Totuși, când vei*Vers. 21. dori, vei putea să junghii vite și să mănânci carne în toate cetățile tale, cât îți va fi dat prin binecuvântarea Domnului Dumnezeului tău; cel ce va fi*Vers. 22. necurat și cel ce va fi curat vor putea să mănânce din ea, cum se mănâncă*Cap. 12:22;14:5;15:22. din căprioară și din cerb. 16 Numai*Gen. 9:4.Lev. 7:26;17:10. Cap. 15:23; 12:23,24. sângele să nu-l mâncați, ci să-l vărsați pe pământ ca apa. 17 Nu vei putea să mănânci în cetățile tale zeciuiala din grâul tău, din mustul tău și din untdelemnul tău, nici întâii născuți din cirezile și turmele tale, nici vreunul din darurile aduse de tine pentru împlinirea unei juruințe, nici darurile tale de bunăvoie, nici cele dintâi roade ale tale. 18 Ci pe acestea să le*Vers. 11,12. Cap. 14:23. mănânci înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău, în locul pe care-l va alege Domnul Dumnezeul tău, tu, fiul tău și fiica ta, robul și roaba ta și levitul care va fi în cetățile tale, și să te bucuri înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău de toate bunurile pe care le vei avea. 19 Cât vei trăi în țara ta, vezi să nu cumva*Cap. 14:27. să părăsești pe levit. 20 Când Domnul Dumnezeul tău îți va lărgi hotarele, cum*Gen. 15:18;28:14.Exod 34:24. Cap. 11:14;19:8. ți-a făgăduit, și dorința să mănânci carne te va face să zici: ‘Aș vrea să mănânc carne!’ vei putea să mănânci după dorința ta. 21 Dacă locul pe care-l va alege Domnul Dumnezeul tău ca să-Și așeze acolo Numele este departe de tine, vei putea să tai vite din cireadă și din turmă, cum ți-am poruncit, și vei putea să mănânci din ele în cetățile tale, după dorința ta. 22 Să mănânci din ele cum*Vers. 15. se mănâncă din căprioară și cerb; cel ce va fi necurat și cel ce va fi curat vor mânca și ei amândoi. 23 Numai*Vers. 16. vezi să nu cumva să mănânci sângele, căci sângele*Gen. 9:4.Lev. 17:11,14. este viața (sufletul), și să nu mănânci sufletul împreună cu carnea. 24 Să nu-l mănânci, ci să-l verși pe pământ ca apa. 25 Să nu-l mănânci, ca*Cap. 4:40.Is. 3:10. să fii fericit tu, și copiii tăi după tine, făcând*Exod 15:26. Cap. 13:18.1 Împ. 11:38. ce este plăcut înaintea Domnului. 26 Dar lucrurile pe care vei voi să*Num. 5:9,10;18:19. le închini Domnului și darurile pe care le vei aduce pentru împlinirea unei juruințe*1 Sam. 1:21,22,24., să te duci să le aduci în locul pe care-l va alege Domnul. 27 Să-ți aduci*Lev. 1:5,9,13;17:11. arderile-de-tot, carnea și sângele pe altarul Domnului Dumnezeului tău; în celelalte jertfe ale tale, sângele să fie vărsat pe altarul Domnului Dumnezeului tău, iar carnea s-o mănânci. 28 Păzește și ascultă toate aceste lucruri pe care ți le poruncesc, ca*Vers. 25. să fiți fericiți tu și copiii tăi după tine, pe vecie, făcând ce este bine și ce este plăcut înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău.

29 După ce Domnul*Exod 23:23. Cap. 19:1.Ios. 23:4. Dumnezeul tău va nimici toate neamurile pe care le vei izgoni dinaintea ta, după ce le vei izgoni și te vei așeza în țara lor, 30 vezi să nu*Cap. 7:16. te lași prins în cursă, călcând pe urmele lor, după ce vor fi nimicite dinaintea ta. Ferește-te să nu cercetezi despre dumnezeii lor și să zici: ‘Cum slujeau neamurile acestea dumnezeilor lor? Și eu vreau să fac la fel.’ 31 Tu*Vers. 4.Lev. 18:3,26,30.2 Împ. 17:15. să nu faci așa față de Domnul Dumnezeul tău, căci ele slujeau dumnezeilor lor, făcând toate urâciunile pe care le urăște Domnul, și ele chiar își ardeau*Lev. 18:21;20:2. Cap. 18:10.Ier. 32:35.Ezec. 23:37. în foc fiii și fiicele lor în cinstea dumnezeilor lor. 32 Voi să păziți și să împliniți toate lucrurile pe care vi le poruncesc eu; să n-adăugați*Cap. 4:2;13:18.Ios. 1:7.Prov. 30:6.Apoc. 22:18. nimic la ele și să nu scoateți nimic din ele.
