1 And he said unto me, Son of man, eat that which thou findest; eat this roll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel. 2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat the roll. 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them. 5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of a hard language, but to the house of Israel; 6 not to many peoples of a strange speech and of a hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, if I sent thee to them, they would hearken unto thee. 7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are of a hard forehead and of a stiff heart. 8 Behold, I have made thy face hard against their faces, and thy forehead hard against their foreheads. 9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house. 10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thy heart, and hear with thine ears. 11 And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from his place. 13 And I heard the noise of the wings of the living creatures as they touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, even the noise of a great rushing. 14 So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; and the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me. 15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river Chebar, and to where they dwelt; and I sat there overwhelmed among them seven days.

16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand. 19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. 20 Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thy hand. 21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning; and thou hast delivered thy soul.

22 And the hand of Jehovah was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee. 23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of Jehovah stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face. 24 Then the Spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet; and he spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thy house. 25 But thou, son of man, behold, they shall lay bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them: 26 and I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover; for they are a rebellious house. 27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

1 El mi-a zis: „Fiul omului, mănâncă ce vei găsi înaintea ta, mănâncă*Cap. 2:8,9. sulul acesta și du-te de vorbește casei lui Israel!" 2 Am deschis gura și mi-a dat să mănânc sulul acesta. 3 El mi-a zis: „Fiul omului, hrănește-ți trupul și umple-ți măruntaiele cu sulul acesta pe care ți-l dau!" L-am mâncat*Apoc. 10:9.Ier. 15:16., și în gura mea a fost dulce ca mierea*Ps. 19:10;119:103.. 4 El mi-a zis: „Fiul omului, du-te la casa lui Israel și spune-le cuvintele Mele! 5 Căci nu ești trimis la un popor cu o vorbire încurcată și cu o limbă greoaie, ci la casa lui Israel. 6 Nu la niște popoare mari, cu o vorbire încurcată și cu o limbă greoaie, ale căror cuvinte să nu le poți pricepe. Negreșit*Mat. 11:21,23., dacă te-aș trimite la ele, te-ar asculta! 7 Dar casa lui Israel nu va voi să te asculte, pentru că*Ioan 15:20. nu vrea să M-asculte, căci*Cap. 2:4. toată casa lui Israel are fruntea încruntată și inima împietrită. 8 Iată, îți voi face fața tot așa de aspră ca și fețele lor și fruntea tot așa de aspră ca fruntea lor. 9 Îți voi face fruntea ca un diamant*Is. 50:7.Ier. 1:18;15:20.Mica 3:8., mai aspră decât stânca. Nu te teme*Ier. 1:8,17. Cap. 2:6. și nu te speria de ei, căci sunt o casă de îndărătnici!" 10 El mi-a zis: „Fiul omului, primește în inima ta și ascultă cu urechile tale toate cuvintele pe care ți le spun! 11 Du-te la prinșii de război, la copiii poporului tău, vorbește-le și, fie că vor asculta, fie că nu vor asculta, să le spui: ‘Așa*Cap. 2:5,7. Vers. 27. vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu!’" 12 Și Duhul m-a*Vers. 14. Cap. 8:3.1 Împ. 18:12.2 Împ. 2:16.Fapte 8:39. răpit și am auzit înapoia mea dârdâitul unui mare cutremur de pământ: slava Domnului s-a ridicat din locul ei. 13 Am auzit și vâjâitul aripilor făpturilor vii, care se loveau una de alta, huruitul roților de lângă ele și dârdâitul unui mare cutremur de pământ. 14 Când m-a răpit*Vers. 12. Cap. 8:3. Duhul și m-a luat, mergeam amărât și mânios și mâna*2 Împ. 3:15. Cap. 1:3;8:1; 37:1. Domnului apăsa tare peste mine. 15 Am ajuns la Tel-Abib, la robii de război care locuiau la râul Chebar, în locul*Iov 2:13.Ps. 137:1. unde se aflau, și am rămas acolo, înmărmurit în mijlocul lor, șapte zile. 16 După șapte zile, cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 17 „Fiul*Cap. 33:7,8,9. omului, te pun păzitor*Is. 52:8;56:10;62:6.Ier. 6:17. peste casa lui Israel. Când vei auzi un cuvânt care va ieși din gura Mea, să-i înștiințezi din partea Mea! 18 Când voi zice celui rău: ‘Vei muri negreșit!’, dacă nu-l vei înștiința și nu-i vei spune ca să-l întorci de la calea lui cea rea și să-i scapi viața, acel om rău va muri*Cap. 33:6.Ioan 8:21,24. prin nelegiuirea lui, dar îi voi cere sângele din mâna ta! 19 Dar, dacă vei înștiința pe cel rău, și el tot nu se va întoarce de la răutatea lui și de la calea cea rea, va muri prin nelegiuirea lui, dar tu îți vei mântui*Is. 49:4,5.Fapte 20:26. sufletul! 20 Dacă un om neprihănit*Cap. 18:24;33:12,13. se va abate de la neprihănirea lui și va face ce este rău, îi voi pune un laț înainte și va muri. Dacă nu l-ai înștiințat, va muri prin păcatul lui și nu i se va mai pomeni neprihănirea în care a trăit, dar îi voi cere sângele din mâna ta! 21 Dar, dacă vei înștiința pe cel neprihănit să nu păcătuiască și nu va păcătui, va trăi pentru că a primit înștiințarea, iar tu îți vei mântui sufletul!" 22 Și mâna Domnului a venit*Vers. 14. Cap. 1:3. peste mine acolo și mi-a zis: „Scoală-te, du-te în vale*Cap. 8:4. și acolo îți voi vorbi!" 23 M-am sculat și m-am dus în vale și iată că slava*Cap. 1:28. Domnului s-a arătat acolo, așa cum o văzusem*Cap. 1:1. la râul Chebar. Atunci am căzut*Cap. 1:28. cu fața la pământ. 24 Duhul a intrat*Cap. 2:2. în mine și m-a făcut să stau pe picioare. Și Domnul mi-a vorbit și mi-a zis: „Du-te și închide-te în casă! 25 Căci iată, fiul omului, vor pune peste*Cap. 4:8. tine funii cu care te vor lega ca să nu mai poți ieși în mijlocul lor. 26 Îți voi lipi*Cap. 24:27.Luca 1:20,22. limba de cerul gurii ca să rămâi mut și să nu-i poți mustra, căci sunt*Cap. 2:5-7. o casă de îndărătnici! 27 Dar, când*Cap. 24:27;33:22. îți voi vorbi, îți voi deschide gura ca să le spui: ‘Așa*Vers. 11. vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu.’ Cine vrea să asculte, să asculte; cine nu vrea, să n-asculte! Căci*Vers. 9,26. Cap. 12:2,3. sunt o casă de îndărătnici!
