1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. 2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens; with all wherewith the ground teemeth, and all the fishes of the sea, into your hand are they delivered. 3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be food for you; as the green herb have I given you all. 4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. 5 And surely your blood, the blood of your lives, will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it: and at the hand of man, even at the hand of every man’s brother, will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. 7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

8 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, 9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; 10 and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you; of all that go out of the ark, even every beast of the earth. 11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of the flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. 12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. 14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud, 15 and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. 17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

18 And the sons of Noah, that went forth from the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. 19 These three were the sons of Noah: and of these was the whole earth overspread.

20 And Noah began to be a husbandman, and planted a vineyard: 21 and he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. 23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness. 24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his youngest son had done unto him. 25 And he said,

Cursed be Canaan;

A servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

26 And he said,

Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Shem;

And let Canaan be his servant.

27 God enlarge Japheth,

And let him dwell in the tents of Shem;

And let Canaan be his servant.

28 And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. 29 And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

1 Dumnezeu a binecuvântat pe Noe și pe fiii săi și le-a zis: „Creșteți*Vers. 7,19. Cap. 1:28;10:32., înmulțiți-vă și umpleți pământul. 2 S-apuce groaza*Cap. 1:28.Osea 2:18. și frica de voi pe orice dobitoc de pe pământ, pe orice pasăre a cerului, pe tot ce se mișcă pe pământ și pe toți peștii mării: vi le-am dat în mâinile voastre! 3 Tot ce se mișcă*Deut. 12:15;14:3,9,11.Fapte 10:12,13. și are viață să vă slujească de hrană; toate*Cap. 1:29. acestea vi le dau, ca și iarba*Rom. 14:14,20.1 Cor. 10:23,26.Col. 2:16.1 Tim. 4:3,4. verde. 4 Numai carne cu viața ei*Lev. 17:10,11,14;11:26.Deut. 12:23.1 Sam. 14:33.Fapte 15:19,20., adică sângele ei, să nu mâncați. 5 Căci voi cere înapoi sângele vieților voastre; îl voi cere înapoi de la orice dobitoc*Exod 21:28. și voi cere înapoi viața omului din mâna omului*Cap. 4:9,10.Ps. 9:12., din mâna oricărui om*Fapte 17:26., care este fratele lui. 6 Dacă varsă*Exod 21:12,14.Lev. 24:17.Mat. 26:52.Apoc. 13:10. cineva sângele omului, și sângele lui să fie vărsat de om, căci Dumnezeu a făcut pe om după chipul*Cap. 1:27. Lui. 7 Iar voi creșteți*Vers. 1,19. Cap. 1:28. și înmulțiți-vă; răspândiți-vă pe pământ și înmulțiți-vă pe el!"

8 Dumnezeu a mai vorbit lui Noe și fiilor lui, care erau cu el, și a zis: 9 „Iată, Eu fac*Cap. 6:18. un legământ*Is. 54:9. cu voi și cu sămânța voastră, care va veni după voi; 10 cu toate*Ps. 115:9. viețuitoarele care sunt cu voi, atât păsările, cât și vitele, și toate fiarele de pe pământ care sunt cu voi; cu toate cele care au ieșit din corabie și cu orice alte dobitoace de pe pământ. 11 Fac*Is. 54:9. un legământ cu voi că nicio făptură nu va mai fi nimicită de apele potopului și nu va mai veni potop, ca să pustiască pământul." 12 Și Dumnezeu a zis: „Iată semnul*Cap. 17:11. legământului pe care-l fac între Mine și voi și între toate viețuitoarele care sunt cu voi, pentru toate neamurile de oameni în veci: 13 curcubeul Meu, pe care l-am așezat*Exod 28:12. în nor, el va sluji ca semn al legământului dintre Mine și pământ. 14 Când voi strânge nori deasupra pământului, curcubeul se va arăta în nor, 15 și Eu Îmi voi aduce aminte*Lev. 26:42,45.Ezec. 16:60. de legământul dintre Mine și voi și dintre toate viețuitoarele de orice trup; și apele nu se vor mai face un potop, ca să nimicească orice făptură. 16 Curcubeul va fi în nor, și Eu Mă voi uita la el, ca să-Mi aduc aminte de legământul cel veșnic*Cap. 17:13,19. dintre Dumnezeu și toate viețuitoarele de orice trup de pe pământ." 17 Și Dumnezeu a zis lui Noe: „Acesta este semnul legământului pe care l-am făcut între Mine și orice făptură de pe pământ."

18 Fiii lui Noe, care au ieșit din corabie, erau: Sem, Ham și Iafet: Ham*Cap. 10:6. este tatăl lui Canaan. 19 Aceștia*Cap. 5:32. au fost cei trei fii ai lui Noe, și din ei*Cap. 10:32.1 Cron. 1:4. s-au răspândit oameni peste tot pământul. 20 Noe a început să fie lucrător*Cap. 3:23;4:2.Prov. 12:11. de pământ și a sădit o vie. 21 A băut vin, s-a îmbătat*Prov. 20:1.1 Cor. 10:12. și s-a dezgolit în mijlocul cortului său. 22 Ham, tatăl lui Canaan, a văzut goliciunea tatălui său și a spus celor doi frați ai lui afară. 23 Atunci, Sem*Exod 20:12.Gal. 6:1. și Iafet au luat mantaua, au pus-o pe umeri, au mers de-a-ndăratelea și au acoperit goliciunea tatălui lor; fiindcă fețele le erau întoarse înapoi, n-au văzut goliciunea tatălui lor. 24 Noe s-a trezit din amețeala vinului și a aflat ce-i făcuse fiul său cel mai tânăr.

25 Și a zis:

„Blestemat*Deut. 27:16. să fie Canaan!

Să fie robul*Ios. 9:23.1 Împ. 9:20,21. robilor fraților lui!"

26 El a mai zis:

„Binecuvântat*Ps. 144:15.Evr. 11:16. să fie Domnul Dumnezeul lui Sem,

Și Canaan să fie robul lui*9:26 Sau: lor.!

27 Dumnezeu să lărgească locurile stăpânite de Iafet.

Iafet să locuiască*Efes. 2:13,14;3:6. în corturile lui Sem,

Și Canaan să fie robul lor!"

28 Noe a trăit, după potop, trei sute cincizeci de ani. 29 Toate zilele lui Noe au fost de nouă sute cincizeci de ani, apoi a murit.
