1 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the candlestick. 3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof so as to give light in front of the candlestick, as Jehovah commanded Moses. 4 And this was the work of the candlestick, beaten work of gold; unto the base thereof, and unto the flowers thereof, it was beaten work: according unto the pattern which Jehovah had showed Moses, so he made the candlestick.

5 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them. 7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of expiation upon them, and let them cause a razor to pass over all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves. 8 Then let them take a young bullock, and its meal-offering, fine flour mingled with oil; and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin-offering. 9 And thou shalt present the Levites before the tent of meeting: and thou shalt assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel: 10 and thou shalt present the Levites before Jehovah. And the children of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites: 11 and Aaron shall offer the Levites before Jehovah for a wave-offering, on the behalf of the children of Israel, that it may be theirs to do the service of Jehovah. 12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and offer thou the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, unto Jehovah, to make atonement for the Levites. 13 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for a wave-offering unto Jehovah.

14 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine. 15 And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tent of meeting: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for a wave-offering. 16 For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of all that openeth the womb, even the first-born of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me. 17 For all the first-born among the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself. 18 And I have taken the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel. 19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel; that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

20 Thus did Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the Levites: according unto all that Jehovah commanded Moses touching the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them. 21 And the Levites purified themselves from sin, and they washed their clothes: and Aaron offered them for a wave-offering before Jehovah; and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them. 22 And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron, and before his sons: as Jehovah had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.

23 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 24 This is that which belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service in the work of the tent of meeting: 25 and from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the work, and shall serve no more, 26 but shall minister with their brethren in the tent of meeting, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charges.

1 Domnul a vorbit lui Moise și a zis: 2 „Vorbește lui Aaron și spune-i: ‘Când vei așeza*Exod 25:37;40:25. candelele în sfeșnic, cele șapte candele vor trebui să lumineze în partea dinainte a sfeșnicului.’" 3 Aaron a făcut așa; a așezat candelele în partea dinainte a sfeșnicului, cum poruncise lui Moise Domnul. 4 Sfeșnicul*Exod 25:31. era de aur bătut; atât piciorul, cât și florile lui erau de aur*Exod 25:18. bătut. Moise făcuse sfeșnicul după*Exod 25:40. chipul pe care i-l arătase Domnul.

5 Domnul a vorbit lui Moise și a zis: 6 „Ia pe leviți din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel și curățește-i. 7 Iată cum să-i curățești: Stropește-i*Cap. 19:9,17,18. cu apă ispășitoare, să lase*Lev. 14:8,9. să treacă briciul peste tot trupul lor, să-și spele hainele și să se curățească. 8 Să ia apoi un vițel, cu darul*Lev. 2:1. de mâncare obișnuit, făcut din floare de făină frământată cu untdelemn, și să mai iei un alt vițel pentru jertfa de ispășire. 9 Să apropii*Exod 29:4;40:12. pe leviți înaintea cortului întâlnirii și să strângi*Lev. 8:3. toată adunarea copiilor lui Israel. 10 Să apropii pe leviți înaintea Domnului, și copiii lui Israel să-și pună*Lev. 1:4. mâinile pe leviți. 11 Aaron să legene pe leviți într-o parte și într-alta înaintea Domnului, ca un dar legănat din partea copiilor lui Israel, și să fie închinați astfel în slujba Domnului. 12 Leviții*Exod 29:10. să-și pună mâinile pe capul vițeilor și să aduci unul ca jertfă de ispășire și altul ca ardere-de-tot, ca să faci ispășire pentru leviți. 13 Să pui pe leviți în picioare înaintea lui Aaron și înaintea fiilor lui și să-i legeni într-o parte și într-alta, ca un dar legănat Domnului. 14 Așa să desparți pe leviți din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel, și leviții vor fi ai*Cap. 3:45;16:9. Mei. 15 După aceea, leviții să vină să facă slujba în cortul întâlnirii. Astfel să-i curățești și să-i legeni*Vers. 11,13. într-o parte și într-alta, ca un dar legănat. 16 Căci ei Îmi sunt dați cu totul din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel: Eu i-am luat pentru Mine în locul*Cap. 3:12,45. întâilor născuți, din toți întâii născuți ai copiilor lui Israel. 17 Căci orice întâi născut al copiilor lui Israel este al Meu*Exod 13:2,12,13,15. Cap. 3:13.Luca 2:23., atât din oameni, cât și din dobitoace; Mie Mi i-am închinat în ziua când am lovit pe toți întâii născuți în țara Egiptului. 18 Și Eu am luat pe leviți în locul tuturor întâilor născuți ai copiilor lui Israel. 19 Am dat*Cap. 3:9. pe leviți în totul lui Aaron și fiilor lui, din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel, ca să facă slujbă pentru copiii lui Israel în cortul întâlnirii, să facă ispășire pentru copiii lui Israel, și astfel copiii lui Israel să nu fie loviți cu nicio*Cap. 1:53;16:46;18:5.2 Cron. 26:16. urgie când se vor apropia de Sfântul Locaș." 20 Moise, Aaron și toată adunarea copiilor lui Israel au făcut cu leviții tot ce poruncise lui Moise Domnul despre leviți; așa au făcut copiii lui Israel cu ei. 21 Leviții*Vers. 7. s-au curățit și și-au spălat hainele. Aaron*Vers. 11,12. i-a legănat într-o parte și într-alta, ca un dar legănat înaintea Domnului, și a făcut ispășire pentru ei, ca să-i curățească. 22 După aceea*Vers. 15., leviții au venit să-și facă slujba în cortul întâlnirii, în fața lui Aaron și a fiilor lui. Întocmai cum poruncise*Vers. 5. lui Moise Domnul cu privire la leviți, așa s-a făcut cu ei.

23 Domnul a vorbit lui Moise și a zis: 24 „Iată legea privitoare la leviți. De la vârsta de douăzeci*Cap. 4:3.1 Cron. 23:3,24,27. și cinci de ani în sus, orice levit va intra în slujba cortului întâlnirii ca să îndeplinească o slujbă acolo. 25 De la vârsta de cincizeci de ani încolo, să iasă din slujbă și să nu mai slujească. 26 Va putea să ajute pe frații lui în cortul întâlnirii, să păzească*Cap. 1:53. ce le este dat în grijă, dar să nu mai facă slujbă. Așa să faci cu leviții în ce privește slujbele lor."
