1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked,

Nor standeth in the way of sinners,

Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:

2 But his delight is in the law of Jehovah;

And on his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water,

That bringeth forth its fruit in its season,

Whose leaf also doth not wither;

And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The wicked are not so,

But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment,

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous;

But the way of the wicked shall perish.

nu se oprește pe calea celor păcătoși

și nu se așază pe scaunul*Ps. 26:4.Ier. 15:17. celor batjocoritori,

2 ci își găsește plăcerea*Ps. 119:35,47,92. în Legea Domnului

și zi și noapte cugetă la Legea*Ios. 1:8.Ps. 119:1,97. Lui!

3 El este ca un pom sădit*Ier. 17:8.Ezec. 47:12. lângă un izvor de apă,

care își dă rodul la vremea lui

și ale cărui frunze nu se veștejesc;

tot ce începe duce la bun sfârșit*Gen. 39:3,23.Ps. 128:2.Is. 3:10..

4 Nu tot așa este cu cei răi,

ci ei sunt ca pleava*Iov 21:18.Ps. 35:5.Is. 17:13;29:5.Osea 13:3., pe care o spulberă vântul.

5 De aceea cei răi nu pot ține capul sus în ziua judecății,

nici păcătoșii, în adunarea celor neprihăniți.

6 Căci Domnul*Ps. 37:18.Zah. 1:7.Ioan 10:14.2 Tim. 2:19. cunoaște calea celor neprihăniți,

dar calea păcătoșilor duce la pieire.
