A Psalm of David.

1 Jehovah, I have called upon thee; make haste unto me:

Give ear unto my voice, when I call unto thee.

2 Let my prayer be set forth as incense before thee;

The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

3 Set a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth;

Keep the door of my lips.

4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing,

To practise deeds of wickedness

With men that work iniquity:

And let me not eat of their dainties.

5 Let the righteous smite me, it shall be a kindness;

And let him reprove me, it shall be as oil upon the head;

Let not my head refuse it:

For even in their wickedness shall my prayer continue.

6 Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock;

And they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

7 As when one ploweth and cleaveth the earth,

Our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

8 For mine eyes are unto thee, O Jehovah the Lord:

In thee do I take refuge; leave not my soul destitute.

9 Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me,

And from the gins of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,

Whilst that I withal escape.

Un psalm al lui David

1 Doamne, eu Te chem; vino degrabă*Ps. 70:5. la mine!

Ia aminte la glasul meu când Te chem!

2 Ca*Apoc. 8:3. tămâia să fie rugăciunea*Apoc. 5:8;8:3,4. mea înaintea Ta

și ca*Ps. 134:2.1 Tim. 2:8. jertfa de seară să fie ridicarea*Exod 29:39. mâinilor mele!

3 Pune, Doamne, o strajă înaintea gurii mele

și păzește ușa buzelor mele!

4 Nu-mi abate inima la lucruri rele,

la fapte vinovate împreună cu oamenii care fac răul,

și*Prov. 23:6. să nu mănânc din ospețele lor!

5 Lovească-mă cel*Prov. 9:8;19:25;25:12.Gal. 6:1. neprihănit, căci lovirea lui îmi este bine-venită;

pedepsească-mă, căci pedeapsa lui este ca untdelemnul turnat pe capul meu!

Să nu-mi întorc capul de la ea:

dar rugăciunea mea se va înălța întruna împotriva răutății lor.

6 Când li se vor prăvăli judecătorii de-a lungul stâncilor,

atunci vor asculta cuvintele mele și vor vedea că sunt plăcute.

7 Cum se brăzdează și se spintecă pământul,

așa ni se risipesc oasele la*2 Cor. 1:9. gura mormântului.

8 De aceea, către Tine, Doamne Dumnezeule, îmi îndrept*2 Cron. 20:12.Ps. 25:15;123:1,2. ochii,

la Tine caut adăpost; nu-mi părăsi sufletul!

9 Păzește-mă de*Ps. 119:110;140:5;142:3. cursa pe care mi-o întind ei

și de piedicile celor ce fac răul!

10 Să cadă*Ps. 35:8. cei răi în lațurile lor,

în timp ce eu să scap!
