A Psalm of David.

1 Hear my prayer, O Jehovah; give ear to my supplications:

In thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.

2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant;

For in thy sight no man living is righteous.

3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul;

He hath smitten my life down to the ground:

He hath made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.

4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me;

My heart within me is desolate.

5 I remember the days of old;

I meditate on all thy doings;

I muse on the work of thy hands.

6 I spread forth my hands unto thee:

My soul thirsteth after thee, as a weary land. [Selah

7 Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah; my spirit faileth:

Hide not thy face from me,

Lest I become like them that go down into the pit.

8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning;

For in thee do I trust:

Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;

For I lift up my soul unto thee.

9 Deliver me, O Jehovah, from mine enemies:

I flee unto thee to hide me.

10 Teach me to do thy will;

For thou art my God:

Thy Spirit is good;

Lead me in the land of uprightness.

11 Quicken me, O Jehovah, for thy name’s sake:

In thy righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.

12 And in thy lovingkindness cut off mine enemies,

And destroy all them that afflict my soul;

For I am thy servant.

1 Doamne, ascultă-mi rugăciunea, pleacă-Ți urechea la cererile mele!

Ascultă-mă în*Ps. 13:1. credincioșia și dreptatea Ta!

2 Nu*Iov 14:3. intra la judecată cu robul Tău!

Căci niciun om viu nu este fără prihană înaintea*Exod 34:7.Iov 4:17;9:2;15:14;25:4.Ps. 130:3.Ecl. 7:20.Rom. 3:20.Gal. 2:16. Ta.

3 Vrăjmașul îmi urmărește sufletul,

îmi calcă viața în picioare la pământ:

mă face să locuiesc în întuneric, ca cei ce au murit de multă vreme.

4 Îmi*Ps. 77:3;142:3. este mâhnit duhul în mine,

îmi este tulburată inima înăuntrul meu.

5 Mi-aduc*Ps. 77:5,10,11. aminte de zilele de odinioară,

mă gândesc la toate lucrările Tale,

cuget la lucrarea mâinilor Tale.

6 Îmi întind*Ps. 88:9. mâinile spre Tine;

îmi suspină sufletul*Ps. 63:1. după Tine ca un pământ uscat. (Oprire)

7 Grăbește de m-ascultă, Doamne!

Mi se topește duhul:

nu-mi ascunde Fața Ta!

Căci*Ps. 28:1. aș ajunge atunci ca cei ce se coboară în groapă.

8 Fă-mă să aud dis-de-dimineață*Ps. 46:5. bunătatea Ta,

căci mă încred în Tine.

Arată-mi*Ps. 5:8. calea pe care trebuie să umblu,

căci la Tine îmi înalț*Ps. 25:1. sufletul.

9 Scapă-mă de vrăjmașii mei, Doamne,

căci la Tine caut adăpost!

10 Învață-mă*Ps. 25:4,5;139:24. să fac voia Ta, căci Tu ești Dumnezeul meu!

Duhul*Neem. 9:20. Tău cel bun să mă călăuzească pe calea*Is. 26:10. cea dreaptă!

11 Pentru Numele Tău, Doamne, înviorează-mă*Ps. 119:25.;

în dreptatea Ta, scoate-mi sufletul din necaz!

12 În bunătatea Ta, nimicește*Ps. 54:5. pe vrăjmașii mei

și pierde pe toți potrivnicii sufletului meu,

căci eu*Ps. 116:16. sunt robul Tău.
