A Psalm of David.

1 Unto thee, O Jehovah, will I call:

My rock, be not thou deaf unto me;

Lest, if thou be silent unto me,

I become like them that go down into the pit.

2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee,

When I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

3 Draw me not away with the wicked,

And with the workers of iniquity;

That speak peace with their neighbors,

But mischief is in their hearts.

4 Give them according to their work, and according to the wickedness of their doings:

Give them after the operation of their hands;

Render to them their desert.

5 Because they regard not the works of Jehovah,

Nor the operation of his hands,

He will break them down and not build them up.

6 Blessed be Jehovah,

Because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

7 Jehovah is my strength and my shield;

My heart hath trusted in him, and I am helped:

Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;

And with my song will I praise him.

8 Jehovah is their strength,

And he is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.

9 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance:

Be their shepherd also, and bear them up for ever.

Un psalm al lui David

1 Doamne, către Tine strig. Stânca mea!

Nu*Ps. 83:1. rămâne surd la glasul meu,

ca*Ps. 88:4;143:7. nu cumva, dacă Te vei depărta fără să-mi răspunzi,

să ajung ca cei ce se coboară în groapă!

2 Ascultă glasul rugăciunilor mele, când strig către Tine

și când*1 Împ. 6:22,23;8:28,29.Ps. 5:7. îmi ridic mâinile spre*Ps. 138:2. Locașul Tău cel Sfânt!

3 Nu*Ps. 26:9. mă lua de pe pământ împreună cu cei răi

și cu oamenii nelegiuiți,

care*Ps. 12:2;55:21;62:4.Ier. 9:8. vorbesc de pace aproapelui lor

și, când colo, au răutate în inimă!

4 Răsplătește-le*2 Tim. 4:14.Apoc. 18:6. după lucrările lor

și după răutatea faptelor lor,

răsplătește-le după lucrarea mâinilor lor!

Dă-le plata care li se cuvine!

5 Căci ei*Iov 34:27.Is. 5:12. nu iau aminte la lucrările Domnului,

la lucrarea mâinilor Lui.

Să-i doboare și să nu-i mai scoale!

6 Binecuvântat să fie Domnul,

căci ascultă glasul rugăciunilor mele!

7 Domnul este tăria*Ps. 18:2. mea și scutul meu;

în El mi se*Ps. 13:5;22:4. încrede inima și sunt ajutat.

De aceea îmi este plină de veselie inima

și-L laud prin cântările mele.

8 Domnul este tăria poporului Său,

El este Stânca*Ps. 20:6. izbăvitoare a unsului Său.

9 Mântuiește, Doamne, poporul Tău

și binecuvântează moștenirea*Deut. 9:29.1 Împ. 8:51,53. Ta!

Fii păstorul și*Ezra 1:4. sprijinitorul lor în veci!
