A Psalm, a Song for the sabbath day.

1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto Jehovah,

And to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High;

2 To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning,

And thy faithfulness every night,

3 With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery;

With a solemn sound upon the harp.

4 For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work:

I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

5 How great are thy works, O Jehovah!

Thy thoughts are very deep.

6 A brutish man knoweth not;

Neither doth a fool understand this:

7 When the wicked spring as the grass,

And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish;

It is that they shall be destroyed for ever.

8 But thou, O Jehovah, art on high for evermore.

9 For, lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah,

For, lo, thine enemies shall perish;

All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn hast thou exalted like the horn of the wild-ox:

I am anointed with fresh oil.

11 Mine eye also hath seen my desire on mine enemies,

Mine ears have heard my desire of the evil-doers that rise up against me.

12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree:

He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 They are planted in the house of Jehovah;

They shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age;

They shall be full of sap and green:

15 To show that Jehovah is upright;

He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

O cântare pentru ziua Sabatului

1 Frumos*Ps. 147:1. este să lăudăm pe Domnul

și să mărim Numele Tău, Preaînalte,

2 să vestim*Ps. 89:1. dimineața bunătatea Ta

și noaptea credincioșia Ta,

3 cu*1 Cron. 23:5.Ps. 33:2. instrumentul cu zece coarde și cu alăuta,

în sunetele harpei.

4 Căci Tu mă înveselești cu lucrările Tale, Doamne,

și eu cânt de veselie când văd lucrarea mâinilor Tale.

5 Cât*Ps. 40:5;139:17. de mari sunt lucrările Tale, Doamne,

și cât de adânci*Is. 28:29.Rom. 11:33,34. sunt gândurile Tale!

6 Omul*Ps. 73:22;94:8. prost nu cunoaște lucrul acesta

și cel nebun nu ia seama la el.

7 Dacă cei*Iov 12:8;21:7.Ps. 37:1,2,35,38.Ier. 12:1,2.Mal. 3:15. răi înverzesc ca iarba

și dacă toți cei ce fac răul înfloresc,

este numai ca să fie nimiciți pe vecie.

8 Dar*Ps. 83:18. Tu, Doamne, ești înălțat în veci de veci!

9 Căci iată, Doamne, vrăjmașii Tăi,

iată, vrăjmașii Tăi pier:

toți cei ce fac răul sunt risipiți*Ps. 68:1;89:10..

10 Dar mie Tu-mi dai puterea*Ps. 89:17,24. bivolului

și m-ai stropit cu*Ps. 23:5. untdelemn proaspăt.

11 Ochiul*Ps. 54:7;59:10;112:8. meu își vede împlinită dorința față de vrăjmașii mei

și urechea mea aude împlinirea dorinței mele față de potrivnicii mei cei răi.

12 Cel fără prihană înverzește ca*Ps. 52:8.Is. 65:22.Osea 14:5,6. finicul

și crește ca cedrul din Liban.

13 Cei sădiți în Casa Domnului

înverzesc în*Ps. 100:4;135:2. curțile Dumnezeului nostru.

14 Ei aduc roade și la bătrânețe;

sunt plini de suc și verzi,

15 ca să arate că Domnul este drept,

El, Stânca*Deut. 32:4. mea, în care nu*Rom. 9:14. este nelegiuire.
