1 E eu vi um novo céu, e uma nova terra; porque o primeiro céu e a primeira terra haviam passado, e não havia mais mar.2 E eu, João, vi a santa cidade, a nova Jerusalém, descendo do céu, da parte de Deus, preparada como uma noiva adornada para o seu marido.3 E eu ouvi uma grande voz do céu, dizendo: Eis que o tabernáculo de Deus está com os homens, e ele habitará com eles, e eles serão o seu povo, e o próprio Deus estará com eles, e será o seu Deus.4 E Deus enxugará todas as lágrimas de seus olhos; e não haverá mais morte, nem tristeza, nem choro, nem haverá mais dor; porque as coisas antigas são passadas.5 E aquele que está assentado sobre o trono disse: Eis que eu faço novas todas as coisas. E ele disse-me: Escreve; porque estas palavras são verdadeiras e fiéis.6 E ele disse-me: Está feito. Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômega, o princípio e o fim. Àquele que estiver sedento eu darei gratuitamente da fonte da água da vida.7 Aquele que vencer, herdará todas as coisas; e eu serei seu Deus, e ele será meu filho.8 Mas os medrosos, e incrédulos, e os abomináveis, e assassinos, e devassos, e feiticeiros, e idólatras e todos os mentirosos, terão sua parte no lago que arde com fogo e enxofre; que é a segunda morte.9 E veio a mim um dos sete anjos que tinham as sete taças cheias das sete últimas pragas, e falou comigo, dizendo: Vem aqui, mostrar-te-ei a noiva, a esposa do Cordeiro.10 E levou-me em espírito a uma grande e alta montanha, e mostrou-me aquela grande cidade, a santa Jerusalém, descendo do céu, da parte de Deus,11 tendo a glória de Deus; e a sua luz era semelhante à mais preciosa pedra, semelhante à pedra de jaspe, clara como o cristal;12 e tinha um muro grande e alto, e tinha doze portões, e nos portões doze anjos, e nomes inscritos sobre eles, que são os nomes das doze tribos dos filhos de Israel;13 ao leste, três portões; ao norte, três portões; ao sul, três portões; ao oeste, três portões.14 E o muro da cidade tinha doze fundamentos, e neles os nomes dos doze apóstolos do Cordeiro.15 E aquele que falava comigo tinha uma cana de ouro para medir a cidade, e os seus portões, e o seu muro.16 E a cidade está em um quadrado; e o seu comprimento é tão grande quanto a largura. E ele mediu a cidade com a cana até doze mil estádios. Seu comprimento, largura e altura são iguais.17 E ele mediu o seu muro, de cento e quarenta e quatro côvados, de acordo com a medida de um homem, isto é, de um anjo.18 E a construção do seu muro era de jaspe, e a cidade era ouro puro, semelhante ao vidro límpido.19 E os fundamentos do muro da cidade estavam decorados de todo tipo de pedras preciosas. O primeiro fundamento era jaspe; o segundo, safira; o terceiro, calcedônia; o quarto, esmeralda;20 o quinto, sardônica; o sexto, sárdio; o sétimo, crisólito; o oitavo, berilo; o nono, topázio; o décimo, crisópraso; o undécimo, jacinto; o duodécimo, ametista.21 E os doze portões eram doze pérolas; cada respectivo portão era de uma pérola; e a rua da cidade era de ouro puro, como se fosse vidro transparente.22 E eu não vi nela templo, porque o Senhor Deus Todo-Poderoso e o Cordeiro são o templo dela.23 E a cidade não tem necessidade de sol, nem de lua, para que nela brilhem, porque a glória de Deus a iluminou, e o Cordeiro é a sua luz.24 E as nações daqueles que são salvos andarão em sua luz; e os reis da terra trazem-lhe sua glória e honra.25 E os seus portões nunca serão fechados de dia, porque ali não haverá noite.26 E a ela trarão a glória e honra das nações.27 E não entrará nela coisa alguma que contamine, nem o que quer que pratique abominação, ou crie mentira; mas só os que estão inscritos no livro da vida do Cordeiro.

1 And I saw a new heaven, and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth were passed away: and the sea was no more.2 And I, John, saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem, descending from God, out of heaven, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall pitch his tent among them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be among them-their God.4 And he shall away wipe every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, nor grief, nor crying; nor shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.5 And he that sat upon the throne, said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said, Write, for these are true and faithful words.6 And he said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End: I will give to him that is athirst, of the fountain of the water of life freely.7 The conqueror shall inherit all things: and I will be to him a God, and he shall be to me my son.8 But, as for the cowards, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and prostitutes, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars-their part shall be in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.9 And there came one of the seven angels, who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues; and spoke with me, saying, Come, and I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife.10 And he brought me, in the Spirit, to a great and high mountain; and he showed me the city, the holy Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,11 having the glory of God; (its luster was like that of a precious gem, even as a jasper stone, clear as crystal,)12 having a great and high wall; having also twelve gates, and over the gates twelve angels, and names written upon them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel:13 on the east, three gates; on the north, three gates; and on the south, three gates; and on the west, three gates.14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations; and on them the names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.15 And he that spoke with me, had a golden reed, that he might measure the city, and its gates and wall.16 And the city is square, and its length is equal to its breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs: and its length and its breadth, and its height are equal.17 And he measured its wall, one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.18 And the wall was built of jasper, and the city was pure gold, like refined glass.19 And the foundations of the walls of the city, were adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation is jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, hyacinth; and the twelfth, amethyst.21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: each of the gates was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.22 And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty, and the Lamb, are the temple of it.23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it; for the glory of the Lord enlightened it, and the Lamb is the light of it.24 And the nations of the saved shall walk in its light; and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and their honor into it.25 And the gates of it shall not be shut by day; (for there shall be no night there.)26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.27 And nothing unclean shall enter into it, nor anything which practices abomination and falsehood; but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.
