1 耶和华的话临到我说：2 "人子啊！葡萄树的木料怎能胜过树林中的枝子呢？3 人可以从葡萄树上取木料制造物件吗？可以从葡萄树上取木料做钉子挂器皿吗？4 看哪！已经拋在火里当作燃料，火既烧毁了两端，连中间也烧焦了，它还可以用来制造物件吗？5 看哪！它完整的时候，尚且不能用来制造物件，何况它被火烧毁和烧焦了，它还能用来做甚么呢？"6 因此，主耶和华这样说："我怎样把树林中的葡萄树拋在火里当作燃料，也必照样对待耶路撒冷的居民。7 我必变脸攻击他们；他们虽然从火里逃出来，火仍要吞灭他们；我变脸攻击他们的时候，你们就知道我是耶和华。8 我必使这地荒凉，因为他们行了不忠的事。这是主耶和华的宣告。"
