1 Stăpînilor, daţi robilor voştri ce le datoraţi, şi ce li se cuvine, căci ştiţi că şi voi aveţi un Stăpîn în cer.

2 Stăruiţi în rugăciune, vegheaţi în ea cu mulţămiri.

3 Rugaţi-vă tot odată şi pentru noi, ca Dumnezeu să ne deschidă o uşă pentru Cuvînt, ca să putem vesti taina lui Hristos, pentru care iată, mă găsesc în lanţuri:

4 ca s'o fac cunoscut aşa cum trebuie să vorbesc despre ea.

5 Purtaţi-vă cu înţelepciune faţă de cei de afară; răscumpăraţi vremea.

6 Vorbirea voastră să fie totdeauna cu har, dreasă cu sare, ca să ştiţi cum trebuie să răspundeţi fiecăruia.

7 Tot ce este cu privire la mine, vă va spune Tihic, fratele prea iubit şi slujitorul credincios, tovarăşul meu de slujbă în Domnul.

8 Vi l-am trimes înadins, ca să luaţi cunoştinţă despre starea noastră, şi să vă mîngîie inimile.

9 L-am trimes împreună cu Onisim, fratele credincios şi prea iubit, care este dintr'ai voştri. Ei vă vor spune tot ce se petrece pe aici.

10 Aristarh, tovarăşul meu de temniţă, vă trimete sănătate; tot aşa şi Marcu, vărul lui Barnaba (cu privire la care aţi primit porunci... dacă vine la voi, să -l primiţi bine),

11 şi Isus, zis Iust: ei sînt din numărul celor tăiaţi împrejur, şi singurii cari au lucrat împreună cu mine pentru Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, oameni cari mi-au fost de mîngăiere.

12 Epafra, care este dintr'ai voştri, vă trimete sănătate. El, rob al lui Hristos, totdeauna se luptă pentru voi în rugăciunile sale, pentruca, desăvîrşiţi şi deplin încredinţaţi, să stăruiţi în voia lui Dumnezeu.

13 Căci vă mărturisesc că are o mare rîvnă pentru voi, pentru cei din Laodicea şi pentru cei din Ierapole.

14 Luca, doftorul prea iubit, şi Dima, vă trimet sănătate.

15 Spuneţi sănătate fraţilor din Laodicea, şi lui Nimfa, şi Bisericii din casa lui.

16 După ce va fi citită această epistolă la voi, faceţi aşa ca să fie citită şi în Biserica Laodicenilor; şi voi, la rîndul vostru, să citiţi epistola care vă va veni din Laodicea.

17 Şi spuneţi lui Arhip: ,,Ia seama să împlineşti bine slujba pe care ai primit -o în Domnul.``

18 Urarea de sănătate este cu mîna mea: Pavel. Aduceţi-vă aminte de lanţurile mele. Harul să fie cu voi! Amin

1 The masters! that which is righteous and equal to the servants give ye, having known that ye also have a Master in the heavens.

2 In the prayer continue ye, watching in it in thanksgiving;

3 praying at the same time also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the secret of the Christ, because of which also I have been bound,

4 that I may manifest it, as it behoveth me to speak;

5 in wisdom walk ye toward those without, the time forestalling;

6 your word always in grace -- with salt being seasoned -- to know how it behoveth you to answer each one.

7 All the things concerning me make known to you shall Tychicus -- the beloved brother, and faithful ministrant, and fellow-servant in the Lord --

8 whom I did send unto you for this very thing, that he might know the things concerning you, and might comfort your hearts,

9 with Onesimus the faithful and beloved brother, who is of you; all things to you shall they make known that [are] here.

10 Salute you doth Aristarchus, my fellow-captive, and Marcus, the nephew of Barnabas, (concerning whom ye did receive commands -- if he may come unto you receive him,)

11 and Jesus who is called Justus, who are of the circumcision: these only [are] fellow-workers for the reign of God who did become a comfort to me.

12 Salute you doth Epaphras, who [is] of you, a servant of Christ, always striving for you in the prayers, that ye may stand perfect and made full in all the will of God,

13 for I do testify to him, that he hath much zeal for you, and those in Laodicea, and those in Hierapolis.

14 Salute you doth Lukas, the beloved physician, and Demas;

15 salute ye those in Laodicea -- brethren, and Nymphas, and the assembly in his house;

16 and when the epistle may be read with you, cause that also in the assembly of the Laodiceans it may be read, and the [epistle] from Laodicea that ye also may read;

17 and say to Archippus, `See to the ministration that thou didst receive in the Lord, that thou mayest fulfil it.`

18 The salutation by the hand of me, Paul; remember my bonds; the grace [is] with you. Amen.
