The Baptism of Jesus

21 When all the people were baptized,  * 3:21–22 Mt 3:13–17; Mk 1:9–11 Jesus also was baptized. As he was praying,  * 3:21 Mt 14:23; Lk 5:16; 9:18,28–29 heaven opened,  * 3:21 Jn 1:51; Ac 7:55; 10:11; Rv 19:1122 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in a physical appearance like a dove.
