1 约坦登基的时候， 是二十五岁； 他在耶路撒冷作王共十六年； 他的母亲名叫耶路沙， 是撒督的女儿。

2 约坦行耶和华看为正的事， 像他父亲乌西雅一切所行的， 只是没有进入耶和华的殿； 但人民还是行败坏的事。

3 约坦建造了耶和华殿的上门； 在俄斐勒的城墙上， 他也有很多建设。

4 他在犹大山地建造城市， 又在树林中建造一些营寨和瞭望楼。

5 约坦和亚扪人的王交战， 战胜了他们； 那一年， 亚扪人就献给他三千四百公斤银子， 一千公吨小麦， 一千公吨大麦； 第二年和第三年， 亚扪人也献给他这个数目。

6 约坦在耶和华他的 神面前坚守正道， 所以日渐强盛。

7 约坦其余的事迹， 他的一切战争和作为， 都记在以色列和犹大列王记上。

8 他登基的时候是二十五岁； 他在耶路撒冷作王共十六年。

9 约坦和他的列祖同睡， 埋葬在大卫城里； 他的儿子亚哈斯接续他作王。

1 Jotham was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok. 2 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his father Uzziah had done: howbeit he entered not into the temple of Jehovah. And the people did yet corruptly. 3 He built the upper gate of the house of Jehovah, and on the wall of Ophel he built much. 4 Moreover he built cities in the hill-country of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers. 5 He fought also with the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against them. And the children of Ammon gave him the same year a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of Ammon render unto him, in the second year also, and in the third. 6 So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before Jehovah his God. 7 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. 8 He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. 9 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
