1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from {being} a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks; and they shall lie down and there shall be none to make them afraid.
3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith Jehovah of hosts.
4 And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall become lean.
5 And it shall be as when the reaper gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; yea, it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim.
6 And a gleaning shall be left in it, as at the shaking of an olive-tree: two, three berries above, in the tree-top; four, five in its fruitful boughs, saith Jehovah, the God of Israel.
7 In that day shall man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have regard to the Holy One of Israel.
8 And he will not look to the altars, the work of his hands, nor have regard to what his fingers have made, neither the Asherahs nor the sun-images.
9 In that day shall his strong cities be as the forsaken tract in the woodland, and the mountain-top which they forsook before the children of Israel; and there shall be desolation.
10 For thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength; therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plantations, and shalt set them with foreign slips:
11 in the day of thy planting wilt thou make {them} to grow, and on the morrow wilt thou make thy seed to flourish; {but} the harvest will flee in the day of taking possession, and the sorrow will be incurable.
12 Ha! a tumult of many peoples! they make a noise as the noise of the seas; -and the rushing of nations! they rush as the rushing of mighty waters.
13 The nations rush as the rushing of many waters; but he will rebuke them, and they shall flee far away, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a whirling {of dust} before the whirlwind:
14 behold, at eventide, trouble; before the morning they are not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
1 论 大 马 色 的 默 示 ： 看 哪 ， 大 马 色 已 被 废 弃 ， 不 再 为 城 ， 必 变 作 乱 堆 。
2 亚 罗 珥 的 城 邑 已 被 撇 弃 ， 必 成 为 牧 羊 之 处 ； 羊 在 那 里 躺 卧 ， 无 人 惊 吓 。
3 以 法 莲 不 再 冇 保 障 ； 大 马 色 不 再 冇 国 权 ； 亚 兰 所 剩 下 的 必 象 以 色 列 人 的 荣 耀 消 灭 一 样 。 这 是 万 军 之 耶 和 华 说 的 。
4 到 那 日 ， 雅 各 的 荣 耀 必 至 枵 薄 ； 他 肥 胖 的 身 体 必 渐 瘦 弱 。
5 就 必 象 收 割 的 人 收 敛 禾 稼 ， 用 手 割 取 穗 子 ， 又 象 人 在 利 乏 音 谷 拾 取 遗 落 的 穗 子 。
6 其 间 所 剩 下 的 不 多 ， 好 象 人 打 橄 榄 树 ― 在 儘 上 的 枝 梢 上 只 剩 两 叁 个 果 子 ； 在 多 果 树 的 旁 枝 上 只 剩 四 五 个 果 子 。 这 是 耶 和 华 ― 以 色 列 的 神 说 的 。
7 当 那 日 ， 人 必 仰 望 造 他 们 的 主 ， 眼 目 重 看 以 色 列 的 圣 者 。
8 他 们 必 不 仰 望 祭 坛 ， 就 是 自 己 手 所 筑 的 ， 也 不 重 看 自 己 指 头 所 做 的 ， 无 论 是 木 偶 是 日 象 。
9 在 那 日 ， 他 们 的 坚 固 城 必 象 树 林 中 和 山 顶 上 所 撇 弃 的 地 方 ， 就 是 从 前 在 以 色 列 人 面 前 被 人 撇 弃 的 。 这 样 ， 地 就 荒 凉 了 。
10 因 你 忘 记 救 你 的 神 ， 不 纪 念 你 能 力 的 磐 石 ； 所 以 ， 你 栽 上 佳 美 的 树 秧 子 ， 插 上 异 样 的 栽 子 。
11 栽 种 的 日 子 ， 你 周 围 圈 上 篱 笆 ， 又 到 早 晨 使 你 所 种 的 幵 花 ； 但 在 愁 苦 极 其 伤 痛 的 日 子 ， 所 收 割 的 都 飞 去 了 。
12 唉 ！ 多 民 鬨 嚷 ， 好 象 海 浪 匉 訇 ； 列 邦 奔 腾 ， 好 象 猛 水 滔 滔 ；
13 列 邦 奔 腾 ， 好 象 多 水 滔 滔 ； 但 神 斥 责 他 们 ， 他 们 就 远 远 逃 避 ， 又 被 追 赶 ， 如 同 山 上 的 风 前 糠 ， 又 如 暴 风 前 的 旋 风 土 。
14 到 晚 上 冇 惊 吓 ， 未 到 早 晨 他 们 就 没 冇 了 。 这 是 掳 掠 我 们 之 人 所 得 的 分 ， 是 抢 夺 我 们 之 人 的 报 应 。
