1 And Jehovah said unto me, Go again, love a woman beloved of a friend, and an adulteress, according to the love of Jehovah for the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods, and love raisin-cakes. 2 So I bought her to me for fifteen silver pieces, and for a homer of barley, and a half-homer of barley. 3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be another man’s, and I will also be for thee. 4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without statue, and without ephod and teraphim. 5 Afterwards shall the children of Israel return, and seek Jehovah their God*GodHebrew: Elohim and David their king; and shall turn with fear toward Jehovah and toward his goodness, at the end of the days.

1 Und Jehova sprach zu mir: Gehe wiederum hin, liebe ein Weib, das von ihrem Freunde geliebt wird und Ehebruch treibt: wie Jehova die Kinder Israel liebt, welche sich aber zu anderen Göttern hinwenden und Traubenkuchen lieben. 2 Und ich kaufte sie mir für fünfzehn Silbersekel und einen Homer Gerste und einen Letech *entspricht einem halben Homer Gerste. 3 Und ich sprach zu ihr: Du sollst mir viele Tage also bleiben, du sollst nicht huren und keines Mannes sein; und so werde auch ich dir gegenüber tun. 4 Denn die Kinder Israel werden viele Tage ohne König bleiben und ohne Fürsten, und ohne Schlachtopfer und ohne Bildsäule *O. Denksäule (des Baal), und ohne Ephod und Teraphim. 5 Danach werden die Kinder Israel umkehren und Jehova, ihren Gott, und David, ihren König, suchen; und sie werden sich zitternd wenden zu Jehova und zu seiner Güte am Ende der Tage.
