1 and you, being dead in your offences and sins — 2 in which ye once walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience: 3 among whom we also all once had our conversation in the lusts of our flesh, doing what the flesh and the thoughts willed to do, and were children, by nature, of wrath, even as the rest:
4 but God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 (we too being dead in offences,) has quickened us with the Christ, (ye are saved by grace,) 6 and has raised us up together, and has made us sit down together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus, 7 that he might display in the coming ages the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness towards us in Christ Jesus. 8 For ye are saved by grace, through faith; and this not of yourselves; it is God’s gift: 9 not on the principle of works, that no one might boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has before prepared that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember that ye, once nations in the flesh, who are called uncircumcision by that called circumcision in the flesh done with the hand; 12 that ye were at that time without Christ, aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 but now in Christ Jesus ye who once were afar off are become nigh by the blood of the Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of enclosure, 15 having annulled the enmity in his flesh, the law of commandments in ordinances, that he might form the two in himself into one new man, making peace; 16 and might reconcile both in one body to God by the cross, having by it slain the enmity; 17 and, coming, he has preached the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off, and the glad tidings of peace to those who were nigh. 18 For through him we have both access by one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but ye are fellow-citizens of the saints, and of the household of God, 20 being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the corner-stone, 21 in whom all the building fitted together increases to a holy temple in the Lord; 22 in whom ye also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

1 Vocación de los Gentiles.
2 Unión de Judíos y Gentiles.
3 Entre los cuales todos nosotros también vivimos en otro tiempo en 2.3 Ga. 5.26.los deseos de nuestra carne, haciendo la voluntad de la carne y de los pensamientos; y 2.3 Sal. 51.5.éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, también como los demás.
4 Empero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por su mucho amor con que nos amó,
5 Aun estando 2.5 Ro. 5.6,8,10.nosotros muertos en pecados, 2.5 Ro. 6.4,5.nos dió vida juntamente con Cristo; por gracia sois salvos;
6 Y juntamente nos resucitó, y asimismo nos hizo sentar 2.6 cp. 1.3.en los cielos con Cristo Jesús,
7 Para mostrar en los siglos venideros las abundantes riquezas de su gracia en su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús.
8 Porque por gracia 2.8 ver. 5. Ro. 3.24.sois salvos 2.8 Ro. 4.16.por la fe; y esto no de vosotros, 2.8 Jn. 6.44,65.pues es don de Dios:
9 No por obras, 2.9 Ro. 11.6.para que nadie se gloríe.
10 Porque somos hechura suya, criados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, 2.10 cp. 1.4.las cuales Dios preparó para que anduviésemos en ellas.
11 Por tanto, 2.11 cp. 5.8.acordaos que en otro tiempo vosotros los Gentiles en la carne, que erais llamados incircuncisión por la que se llama 2.11 Col. 2.11.circuncisión, hecha con mano en la carne;
12 Que en aquel tiempo estabais sin Cristo, alejados de la república de Israel, y extranjeros á 2.12 Ro. 9.4.los pactos de la promesa, 2.12 1 Ts. 4.13.sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.
13 Mas ahora en Cristo Jesús, vosotros que en otro tiempo estabais lejos, 2.13 Hch. 2.39.habéis sido hechos cercanos por la sangre de Cristo.
14 Porque él es nuestra paz, 2.14 Jn. 10.16.que de ambos hizo uno, derribando la pared intermedia de separación;
15 Dirimiendo 2.15 Col. 2.14.en su carne 2.15 Col. 1.21,22.las enemistades, la ley de los mandamientos en orden á ritos, para edificar en sí mismo los dos en un 2.15 Ga. 6.15.nuevo hombre, haciendo la paz,
16 Y 2.16 Col. 1.20,21,22.reconciliar por la cruz con Dios á ambos en 2.16 cp. 4.4.un mismo cuerpo, 2.16 Ro. 6.6 y 8.3. Col. 2.15.matando en ella las enemistades.
17 Y vino, 2.17 Is. 57.19.y anunció la paz á vosotros que estabais lejos, y á los que estaban cerca:
18 Que 2.18 Jn. 14.6,13.por él los unos y los otros 2.18 cp. 3.12.tenemos entrada 2.18 1 Co. 12.13.por un mismo Espíritu al Padre.
19 Así que ya no sois 2.19 ver. 12extranjeros ni advenedizos, sino 2.19 He. 12.22,23.juntamente ciudadanos con los santos, y domésticos de Dios;
20 2.20 Col. 2.7. Edificados sobre el fundamento de los 2.20 Ap. 21.14.apóstoles y 2.20 cp. 3.5.profetas, siendo 2.20 Sal. 118.22.la principal piedra del ángulo Jesucristo mismo;
21 En el cual, compaginado todo el edificio, va creciendo para ser 2.21 1 Co. 3.16.un templo santo en el Señor:
22 En el cual 2.22 1 P. 2.5.vosotros también sois juntamente edificados, para morada de Dios en Espíritu.
