Gênesis 28

1 And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said to him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan. 2 Arise, go to Padan-Aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother’s father, and take a wife thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother’s brother. 3 And the Almighty ·God*GodHebrew: El bless thee, and make thee fruitful and multiply thee, that thou mayest become a company of peoples. 4 And may he give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee and to thy seed with thee, in order that thou mayest possess the land of thy sojourning, which God*GodHebrew: Elohim gave to Abraham! 5 And Isaac sent away Jacob; and he went to Padan-Aram, to Laban the son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebecca, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.

6 And Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padan-Aram, to take a wife thence, blessing him, and giving him a charge saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan; 7 and that Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan-Aram. 8 And Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan were evil in the sight of Isaac his father. 9 And Esau went to Ishmael, and took, besides the wives that he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.

10 And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went towards Haran. 11 And he lighted on a certain place, and lodged there, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of the place, and made it his pillow, and lay down in that place. 12 And he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to the heavens. And behold, angels of God*GodHebrew: Elohim ascended and descended upon it. 13 And behold, Jehovah stood above it. And he said, I am Jehovah, the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Abraham, thy father, and the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Isaac: the land on which thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed. 14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south; and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. 15 And behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places to which thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee until I have done what I have spoken to thee of.

16 And Jacob awoke from his sleep, and said, Surely Jehovah is in this place, and I knew it not. 17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God*GodHebrew: Elohim and this is the gate of heaven. 18 And Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had made his pillow, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on the top of it. 19 And he called the name of that place Beth-el; but the name of that city was Luz at the first. 20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God*GodHebrew: Elohim will be with me, and keep me on this road that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and a garment to put on, 21 and I come again to my father’s house in peace — then shall Jehovah be my God*GodHebrew: Elohim22 And this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God’s*GodHebrew: Elohim house; and of all that thou wilt give me I will without fail give the tenth to thee.

2 ✝ 28.2 Os. 12.13. Levántate, ✝28.2 cp. 25.20.ve á Padan-aram, á casa de ✝28.2 cp. 22.23.Bethuel, padre de tu madre, y toma allí mujer de las hijas de Labán, hermano de tu madre.

3 ✝ 28.3 cp. 17.1,6. Y el Dios omnipotente te bendiga, y te haga fructificar, y te multiplique, hasta venir á ser congregación de pueblos;

4 ✝ 28.4 cp. 12.2. Y te dé la bendición de Abraham, y á tu simiente contigo, para que heredes la ✝28.4 cp. 17.8 y 37.1.tierra de tus peregrinaciones, que Dios dió á Abraham.

5 Así envió Isaac á Jacob, el cual fué á Padan-aram, á Labán, hijo de Bethuel Arameo, hermano de Rebeca, madre de Jacob y de Esaú.

6 Y vió Esaú cómo Isaac había bendecido á Jacob, y le había enviado á Padan-aram, para tomar para sí mujer de allí; y que cuando le bendijo, le había mandado, diciendo: No tomarás mujer de las hijas de Canaán;

7 Y que Jacob había obedecido á su padre y á su madre, y se había ido á Padan-aram.

8 ✝ 28.8 cp. 24.3 y 26.35. Vió asimismo Esaú que las hijas de Canaán parecían mal á Isaac su padre;

9 Y fuése Esaú á Ismael, y tomó para sí por mujer á *28.9 cp. 36.3, Basemath.Mahaleth, hija de Ismael, hijo de Abraham, ✝28.9 cp. 25.13.hermana de Nabaioth, además de sus otras mujeres.

10 Y salió Jacob de ✝28.10 cp. 21.31 y 26.33.Beer-seba, y fué á *28.10 Hch. 7.2, llámase Charán.Harán;

11 Y encontró con un lugar, y durmió allí, porque ya el sol se había puesto: y tomó de las piedras de aquel paraje y puso á su cabecera, y acostóse en aquel lugar.

12 ✝ 28.12 Nm. 12.6. Job 33.15. Y soñó, y he aquí una escala que estaba apoyada en tierra, y su cabeza tocaba en el cielo: ✝28.12 Jn. 1.51.y he aquí ángeles de Dios que subían y descendían por ella.

13 ✝ 28.13 cp. 35.1 y 48.3. Y he aquí, Jehová estaba en lo alto de ella, el cual dijo: ✝28.13 cp. 26.24.Yo soy Jehová, el Dios de Abraham tu padre, y el Dios de Isaac: ✝28.13 cp. 35.12.la tierra en que estás acostado te la daré á ti y á tu simiente.

1 Su sueño y voto en Beth-el.

2 Jacob llega á casa de Labán.

14 ✝ 28.14 cp. 13.16. Y será tu simiente como el polvo de la tierra, y te extenderás al occidente, y al oriente, y al aquilón, y al mediodía; ✝28.14 cp. 12.3 y 26.4.y todas las familias de la tierra serán benditas en ti y en tu simiente.

15 Y he aquí, ✝28.15 cp. 26.24 y 31.3.yo soy contigo, y te guardaré por donde quiera que fueres, ✝28.15 cp. 35.6.y te volveré á esta tierra; ✝28.15 1 R. 8.57.porque no te dejaré hasta tanto que haya hecho lo que te he dicho.

16 Y despertó Jacob de su sueño, dijo: ✝28.16 Ex. 3.5. Jos. 5.15.Ciertamente Jehová está en este lugar, y yo no lo sabía.

17 Y tuvo miedo, y dijo: ¡Cuán terrible es este lugar! No es otra cosa que casa de Dios, y puerta del cielo.

18 Y levantóse Jacob de mañana, y tomó la piedra que había puesto de cabecera, ✝28.18 cp. 31.13,45 y 35.14. 1 S. 7.12. 2 S. 18.18.y alzóla por título, ✝28.18 Lv. 8.10,11. Nm. 7.1.y derramó aceite encima de ella.

19 ✝ 28.19 Jue. 1.23,26. Y llamó el nombre de aquel lugar *28.19 Casa de Dios.Beth-el, bien que Luz era el nombre de la ciudad primero.

20 ✝ 28.20 cp. 31.13. Jue. 11.30. 2 S. 15.8. E hizo Jacob voto, diciendo: Si fuere Dios conmigo, y me guardare en este viaje que voy, y me diere pan para comer y vestido para vestir,

21 Y si tornare en paz á casa de mi padre, ✝28.21 Dt. 26.17.Jehová será mi Dios,

22 Y esta piedra que he puesto por título, ✝28.22 cp. 35.7,14.será casa de Dios: ✝28.22 Lv. 27.30.y de todo lo que me dieres, el diezmo lo he de apartar para ti.
