1 Ich empfehle euch aber Phöbe, unsere Schwester, welche eine Dienerin der Versammlung in Kenchreä ist,

2 auf daß ihr sie in dem Herrn, der Heiligen würdig, aufnehmet und ihr beistehet, in welcher Sache irgend sie euer bedarf; denn auch sie ist vielen ein Beistand O. eine Beschützerin, Fürsorgerin gewesen, auch mir selbst.

3 Grüßet Priska und Aquila, meine Mitarbeiter in Christo Jesu,

4 (welche für mein Leben ihren eigenen Hals preisgegeben haben, denen nicht allein ich danke, sondern auch alle Versammlungen der Nationen)

5 und die Versammlung in ihrem Hause. Grüßet Epänetus, meinen Geliebten, welcher der Erstling Asiens ist für Christum.

6 Grüßet Maria, die sehr für euch gearbeitet hat.

15 Grüßet Philologus und Julias, O. Julia Nereus und seine Schwester und Olympas und alle Heiligen bei ihnen.

16 Grüßet einander mit heiligem Kuß. Es grüßen euch alle Versammlungen des Christus.

17 Ich ermahne O. bitte euch aber, Brüder, daß ihr achthabet auf die, welche Zwiespalt und Ärgernis Eig. die bekannten) Zwiespalte [Spaltungen] und Ärgernisse anrichten, entgegen der Lehre, die ihr gelernt habt, und wendet euch von ihnen ab.

18 Denn solche dienen nicht unserem Herrn Christus, sondern ihrem eigenen Bauche, und durch süße Worte und schöne Reden verführen sie die Herzen der Arglosen.

19 Denn euer Gehorsam ist zu allen hingelangt. dh. zur Kenntnis aller gekommen Daher freue ich mich eurethalben; ich will aber, daß ihr weise seid zum Guten, aber einfältig zum Bösen.

20 Der Gott des Friedens aber wird in kurzem den Satan unter eure Füße zertreten. Die Gnade unseres Herrn Jesus Christus sei mit euch!

25 Dem aber, der euch zu befestigen vermag nach meinem Evangelium und der Predigt von Jesu Christo, nach der Offenbarung des Geheimnisses, Vergl. [Eph. 3,2-11]; [5,32]; [Kol. 1,25-27]; [2,2.3] das in den Zeiten der Zeitalter verschwiegen war,

26 jetzt aber geoffenbart und durch prophetische Schriften, nach Befehl des ewigen Gottes, zum Glaubensgehorsam an alle Nationen kundgetan worden ist,

27 dem allein weisen Gott durch Jesum Christum, ihm W. welchem sei die Herrlichkeit in Ewigkeit! Amen.

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.
