I Am the True Vine

1 "I am the *[Jer. 2:21] true vine, and my Father is *[1 Cor. 3:9]the vinedresser.2 *ver. 6;Matt. 3:10;7:19;[Rom. 11:17;2 Pet. 1:8] Every branch in me that does not bear fruit *[Matt. 15:13;Rom. 11:22] he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, *[Matt. 13:12]that it may bear more fruit.3 Already *ch. 13:10you are clean *ch. 17:17;[ver. 7; Eph. 5:26]because of the word that I have spoken to you.4 *ver. 5-7;1 John 2:6;[Phil. 1:11;Col. 1:23]; See ch. 6:56Abide *See ch. 3:15in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.5 I am the vine; *Rom. 6:5you are the branches.
