Lucas 15

4 *For ver. 4-7, [Matt. 18:12-14] "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, *Ezek. 34:6;[1 Pet. 2:25] if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine *[Ex. 3:1;1 Sam. 17:28] in the open country, and *Ezek. 34:4,11,12,16;[ch. 19:10]go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?5 And when he has found it, *[Isa. 40:11;49:22;60:4;66:12]he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for *1 Pet. 2:25I have found my sheep that was lost.’7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who *ver. 10;See ch. 5:32repents than over ninety-nine *[ch. 5:32;Matt. 9:13]righteous persons who need no repentance.
