16 If you have [Judg. 14:8;1 Sam. 14:25] found honey, eat [ver. 27]only enough for you,
lest you have your fill of it and vomit it.
28 A man [ch. 16:32] without self-control
is like [2 Chr. 32:5;36:19;Neh. 1:3]a city broken into and left without walls.
16 Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.
28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
16 If you find honey, eat just enough—
too much of it, and you will vomit.
28 Like a city whose walls are broken through
is a person who lacks self-control.
16 Do you like honey?
Don’t eat too much, or it will make you sick!
28 A person without self-control
is like a city with broken-down walls.
16 Have you found honey?
Eat only as much as you need,
Lest you be filled with it and vomit.
28 Prov. 16:32Whoever has no rule over his own spirit

is like a city whose wall is broken down. 25:28 Neh 1:3
16 Thou hast found honey, eat what is sufficient for thee, lest being glutted therewith thou vomit it up. 28 As a city that lieth open and is not compassed with walls, so is a man that cannot refrain his own spirit in speaking.
16,17 When you’re given a box of candy, don’t gulp it all down;
eat too much chocolate and you’ll make yourself sick;
And when you find a friend, don’t outwear your welcome;
show up at all hours and he’ll soon get fed up.
28 A person without self-control
is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out.
