20 For the creation *Gen. 3:18,19;Eccles. 1:2was subjected to futility, not willingly, but *Gen. 3:17because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that *[Acts 3:21]the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that *Mark 16:15the whole creation *Jer. 12:4,11has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
