1 Then everybody there cried out loud all night. 2 All the Israelites went and complained to Moses and Aaron, telling them, "If only we’d died in Egypt, or here in this desert! 3 Why is the Lord taking us to this country only to get us killed? Our wives and children will be captured and taken away as slaves! Wouldn’t we be better off going back to Egypt?"
4 They said to one another, "Let’s choose a new leader and go back to Egypt."
1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. 2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! 3 And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? 4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
1 That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. 2 All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, "If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! 3 Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?" 4 And they said to each other, "We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt."
1 Then all the congregation raised a loud cry, and the people ch. 11:4wept that night. 2 And all the people of Israel ver. 27, 29, 33;ch. 16:41;Ex. 15:24;16:2;17:3;Ps. 106:25;[Josh. 9:18] grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, "Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or [ver. 27-29]would that we had died in this wilderness! 3 Why is the Lord bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? ver. 31Our wives and our little ones will become a prey. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt?" 4 And they said to one another, Neh. 9:17"Let us choose a leader and [Deut. 17:16;Acts 7:39]go back to Egypt."
1 Then the whole community began weeping aloud, and they cried all night. 2 Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron. "If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!" they complained. 3 "Why is the Lord taking us to this country only to have us die in battle? Our wives and our little ones will be carried off as plunder! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?" 4 Then they plotted among themselves, "Let’s choose a new leader and go back to Egypt!"
1 So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people Num. 11:4; Deut. 1:45wept that night. 2 Ex. 16:2; 17:3; Num. 16:41; Ps. 106:25; 1 Cor. 10:10And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, "If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! 3 Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and Num. 14:31; Deut. 1:39children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?" 4 So they said to one another, Neh. 9:17"Let us select a leader and Deut. 17:16; Acts 7:39return to Egypt."

1 Then the whole community broke into loud cries, and the people wept that night. 2 All the Israelites complained about Moses and Aaron, 14:2 Ex 16:2,7–8; 17:3; Nm 14:27; 16:11,41; Ps 59:15 and the whole community told them, "If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness! 3 Why is the Lord bringing us into this land to die by the sword? Our wives and children will become plunder. 14:3 Gn 34:29; Nm 14:31 Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt? " 14:3 Nm 11:5; Dt 17:16; Neh 9:17; Ac 7:394 So they said to one another, "Let’s appoint a leader and go back to Egypt."
1 Wherefore the whole multitude crying wept that night. 2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron, saying: 3 Would God that we had died in Egypt and would God we may die in this vast wilderness, and that the Lord may not bring us into this land, lest we fall by the sword, and our wives and children be led away captives. Is it not better to return into Egypt? 4 And they said one to another: Let us appoint a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
