Romans 3:10,20-24

FBV Free Bible Version

10 As Scripture says, "No one does what is right, not even one.

20 For no one is made right before God by doing what the law requires. The law only helps us recognize what sin really is.

21 But now God’s character of goodness and right3:21. See under 1:17. Also 3:22. has been demonstrated. It has nothing to do with law-keeping, even though it was spoken of by the law and the prophets. 22 This character of God that is good and right comes to everyone who trusts in Jesus Christ, those who place their confidence in him. It doesn’t matter who we are: 23 We have all sinned, and we fall far short of God’s glorious ideal. 24 Yet through the free gift of his grace, God makes us right through Christ Jesus who sets us free.

    10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

    20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

    21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

    10 As it is written:

    "There is no one righteous, not even one;

    20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

    21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in3:22 Or through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

  4. NLT New Living Translation

    10 As the Scriptures say,

    "No one is righteous—

    not even one.

    20 For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

    21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses3:21 Greek in the law. and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

    23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
