1 After, I beheld whe the Lambe had opened one of the seales, and I heard one of the foure beastes say, as it were the noise of thunder, Come and see. 2 Therefore I behelde, and loe, there was a white horse, and hee that sate on him, had a bowe, and a crowne was giuen vnto him, and he went forth conquering that he might ouercome. 3 And when he had opened the seconde seale, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4 And there went out an other horse, that was red, and power was giuen to him that sate thereon, to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another, and there was giuen vnto him a great sword. 5 And when hee had opened the thirde seale, I heard the thirde beast say, Come and see: Then I behelde, and loe, a blacke horse, and he that sate on him, had balances in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the mids of the foure beastes say, A measure of wheate for a penie, and three measures of barly for a peny, and oyle, and wine hurt thou not. 7 And when he had opened the fourth seale, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and beholde, a pale horse, and his name that sate on him was Death, and Hell folowed after him, and power was giuen vnto them ouer the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sworde, and with hunger, and with death, and with beasts of the earth. 9 And when hee had opened the fifth seale, I sawe vnder the altar the soules of them, that were killed for the worde of God, and for the testimonie which they mainteined. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, Lord, which art holie and true! doest not thou iudge and auenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And long white robes were giuen vnto euery one, and it was saide vnto them, that they shoulde rest for a litle season vntill their fellow seruants, and their brethren that shoulde bee killed euen as they were, were fulfilled. 12 And I behelde when hee had opened the sixt seale, and loe, there was a great earthquake, and the sunne was as blacke as sackecloth of heare, and the moone was like blood. 13 And the starres of heauen fell vnto the earth, as a figge tree casteth her greene figges when it is shaken of a mightie winde. 14 And heauen departed away, as a scroule, when it is rolled, and euery mountaine and yle were mooued out of their places. 15 And the Kinges of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chiefe captaines, and the mighty men, and euery bondman, and euery free man, hid themselues in dennes, and among the rockes of the mountaines, 16 And said to the mountaines and rocks, Fal on vs, and hide vs from the presence of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lambe. 17 For the great day of his wrath is come, and who can stand?

1 Vi quando o Cordeiro abriu um dos sete selos, e ouvi uma das quatro criaturas viventes dizendo como em voz de trovão: Vem.

2 Olhei, e eis um cavalo branco, e o que estava montado sobre ele tinha um arco; foi-lhe dada uma coroa, e ele saiu vencendo, e para vencer.

3 Quando ele abriu o segundo selo, ouvi a segunda criatura vivente dizendo: Vem.

4 Saiu outro cavalo, vermelho, e ao que estava montado sobre ele, foi-lhe dado que tirasse da terra a paz, e que os homens se matassem uns aos outros. Foi-lhe entregue uma grande espada.

5 Quando abriu o terceiro selo, ouvi a terceira criatura vivente dizendo: Vem. Olhei, e eis um cavalo preto, e o que estava montado sobre ele, tinha uma balança na mão.

6 Ouvi uma como voz no meio das quatro criaturas viventes dizendo: Um queniz de trigo por um denário e três quenizes de cevada por um denário; mas não faças dano ao azeite nem ao vinho.

7 Quando abriu o quarto selo, ouvi a voz da quarta criatura vivente dizendo: Vem.

8 Olhei, e eis um cavalo amarelo, e o que estava montado sobre ele, chamava-se a Morte; o Hades seguia com ele, e foi-lhes dado poder sobre a quarta parte da terra, para matar com a espada, com a fome, com a peste, e pelas feras da terra.

9 Quando abriu o quinto selo, vi debaixo do altar as almas daqueles que tinham sido mortos por causa da palavra de Deus e por causa do testemunho que mantinham.

10 Clamaram com uma grande voz: Até quando, Senhor, santo e verdadeiro, deixas de julgar os que habitam sobre a terra e deles vingar o nosso sangue?

11 A cada um deles foi dada uma vestidura branca; e foi-lhes dito que repousassem ainda por um pouco de tempo até que também se completasse o número dos seus conservos e seus irmãos, que deviam ser mortos como eles o foram.

12 Vi quando abriu o sexto selo, e houve um grande terremoto; o sol tornou-se negro como um saco de cilício,

13 a lua toda tornou-se como sangue, as estrelas do céu caíram sobre a terra como a figueira, agitada de um grande vento, deixa cair os seus figos verdes;

14 o céu recolheu-se como um pergaminho quando se enrola, e todos os montes e ilhas foram removidos dos seus lugares.

15 Os reis da terra, e os príncipes, e os quiliarcas, e os ricos, e os poderosos, e todo o escravo e todo o livre se esconderam nas cavernas e entre os penhascos dos montes;

16 e diziam aos montes e aos rochedos: Cai sobre nós e escondei-nos da face daquele que está sentado sobre o trono, e da ira do Cordeiro,

17 porque é chegado o grande dia da ira deles, e quem pode subsistir?
