E quando furon giunti vicino a Gerusalemme, a Betfage e Betania, presso al monte degli Ulivi, Gesù mandò due dei suoi discepoli, e disse loro: 
Andate nella borgata che è di rimpetto a voi; e subito, appena entrati, troverete legato un puledro dasino, sopra il quale non è montato ancora alcuno; scioglietelo e menatemelo. 
E se qualcuno vi dice: Perché fate questo? rispondete: Il Signore ne ha bisogno, e lo rimanderà subito qua. 
Ed essi andarono e trovarono un puledro legato ad una porta, fuori, sulla strada, e lo sciolsero. 
Ed alcuni di coloro cheran lì presenti, dissero loro: Che fate, che sciogliete il puledro? 
Ed essi risposero come Gesù aveva detto. E quelli li lasciaron fare. 
Ed essi menarono il puledro a Gesù, e gettarono su quello i loro mantelli, ed egli vi montò sopra. 
E molti stendevano i loro mantelli sulla via; ed altri, delle fronde che avean tagliate nei campi. 
E coloro che andavano avanti e coloro che venivano dietro, gridavano: Osanna! Benedetto colui che viene nel nome del Signore! 
Benedetto il regno che viene, il regno di Davide nostro padre! Osanna ne luoghi altissimi! 
E Gesù entrò in Gerusalemme, nel tempio; e avendo riguardata ogni cosa attorno attorno, essendo già lora tarda, uscì per andare a Betania coi dodici. 
E il giorno seguente, quando furon usciti da Betania, egli ebbe fame. 
E veduto di lontano un fico che avea delle foglie, andò a vedere se per caso vi trovasse qualche cosa; a venuto al fico non vi trovò nientaltro che foglie; perché non era la stagion dei fichi. 
E Gesù prese a dire al fico: Niuno mangi mai più in perpetuo frutto da te! E i suoi discepoli udirono. 
E vennero a Gerusalemme; e Gesù, entrato nel tempio, prese a cacciarne coloro che vendevano e che compravano nel tempio; e rovesciò le tavole de cambiamonete e le sedie de venditori di colombi; 
e non permetteva che alcuno portasse oggetti attraverso il tempio. 
Ed insegnava, dicendo loro: Non è egli scritto: La mia casa sarà chiamata casa dorazione per tutte le genti? ma voi ne avete fatta una spelonca di ladroni. 
Ed i capi sacerdoti e gli scribi udirono queste cose e cercavano il modo di farli morire, perché lo temevano; poiché tutta la moltitudine era rapita in ammirazione della sua dottrina. 
E quando fu sera, uscirono dalla città. 
E la mattina, passando, videro il fico seccato fin dalle radici; 
e Pietro, ricordatosi, gli disse: Maestro, vedi, il fico che tu maledicesti, è seccato. 
E Gesù, rispondendo, disse loro: Abbiate fede in Dio! 
In verità io vi dico che chi dirà a questo monte: Togliti di là e gettati nel mare, se non dubita in cuor suo, ma crede che quel che dice avverrà, gli sarà fatto. 
Perciò vi dico: Tutte le cose che voi domanderete pregando, crediate che le avete ricevute, e voi le otterrete. 
E quando vi mettete a pregare, se avete qualcosa contro a qualcuno, perdonate; affinché il Padre vostro che è nei cieli, vi perdoni i vostri falli. 
Ma se voi non perdonate, neppure il Padre vostro che è nei cieli vi perdonerà i vostri falli. 
Poi vennero di nuovo in Gerusalemme; e mentregli passeggiava per il tempio, i capi sacerdoti e gli scribi e gli anziani saccostarono a lui e gli dissero: 
Con quale autorità fai tu queste cose? O chi ti ha data codesta autorità di far queste cose? 
E Gesù disse loro: Io vi domanderò una cosa; rispondetemi e vi dirò con quale autorità io faccio queste cose. 
Il battesimo di Giovanni era esso dal cielo o dagli uomini? Rispondetemi. 
Ed essi ragionavan fra loro dicendo: Se diciamo: Dal cielo, egli dirà: Perché dunque non gli credeste? 
Diremo invece: Dagli uomini? Essi temevano il popolo, perché tutti stimavano che Giovanni fosse veramente profeta. 
E risposero a Gesù: Non lo sappiamo. E Gesù disse loro: E neppur io vi dico con quale autorità fo queste cose. 

And when they come nigh to Jerusalem, to Bethphage, and Bethany, unto the mount of the Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples, 
and saith to them, `Go away to the village that is over-against you, and immediately, entering into it, ye shall find a colt tied, on which no one of men hath sat, having loosed it, bring [it]: 
and if any one may say to you, Why do ye this? say ye that the lord hath need of it, and immediately he will send it hither.` 
And they went away, and found the colt tied at the door without, by the two ways, and they loose it, 
and certain of those standing there said to them, `What do ye -- loosing the colt?` 
and they said to them as Jesus commanded, and they suffered them. 
And they brought the colt unto Jesus, and did cast upon it their garments, and he sat upon it, 
and many did spread their garments in the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees, and were strewing in the way. 
And those going before and those following were crying out, saying, `Hosanna! blessed [is] he who is coming in the name of the Lord; 
blessed is the coming reign, in the name of the Lord, of our father David; Hosanna in the highest.` 
And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple, and having looked round on all things, it being now evening, he went forth to Bethany with the twelve. 
And on the morrow, they having come forth from Bethany, he hungered, 
and having seen a fig-tree afar off having leaves, he came, if perhaps he shall find anything in it, and having come to it, he found nothing except leaves, for it was not a time of figs, 
and Jesus answering said to it, `No more from thee -- to the age -- may any eat fruit;` and his disciples were hearing. 
And they come to Jerusalem, and Jesus having gone into the temple, began to cast forth those selling and buying in the temple, and the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those selling the doves, he overthrew, 
and he did not suffer that any might bear a vessel through the temple, 
and he was teaching, saying to them, `Hath it not been written -- My house a house of prayer shall be called for all the nations, and ye did make it a den of robbers?` 
And the scribes and the chief priests heard, and they were seeking how they shall destroy him, for they were afraid of him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching; 
and when evening came, he was going forth without the city. 
And in the morning, passing by, they saw the fig-tree having been dried up from the roots, 
and Peter having remembered saith to him, `Rabbi, lo, the fig-tree that thou didst curse is dried up.` 
And Jesus answering saith to them, `Have faith of God; 
for verily I say to you, that whoever may say to this mount, Be taken up, and be cast into the sea, and may not doubt in his heart, but may believe that the things that he saith do come to pass, it shall be to him whatever he may say. 
Because of this I say to you, all whatever -- praying -- ye do ask, believe that ye receive, and it shall be to you. 
`And whenever ye may stand praying, forgive, if ye have anything against any one, that your Father also who is in the heavens may forgive you your trespasses; 
and, if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in the heavens forgive your trespasses.` 
And they come again to Jerusalem, and in the temple, as he is walking, there come unto him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders, 
and they say to him, `By what authority dost thou these things? and who gave thee this authority that these things thou mayest do?` 
And Jesus answering said to them, `I will question you -- I also -- one word; and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things; 
the baptism of John -- from heaven was it? or from men? answer me.` 
And they were reasoning with themselves, saying, `If we may say, From heaven, he will say, Wherefore, then, did ye not believe him? 
But if we may say, From men,` -- they were fearing the people, for all were holding John that he was indeed a prophet; 
and answering they say to Jesus, `We have not known;` and Jesus answering saith to them, `Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.`
