1 ဖာ​ရော​ဘု​ရင်​သည် ဂါ​ဇ​မြို့​ကို​မ​လုပ်​ကြံ​မီ၊ ဖိ​လိ​တ္တိ​အ​မျိုး​သား​တို့​ကို​ရည်​မှတ်၍၊ ပ​ရော​ဖက်​ယေ​ရ​မိ​သို့ ရောက်​လာ​သော နှုတ်​က​ပတ်​တော်​အား​ဖြင့်၊*ဟေ​ရှာ၊ ၁၄:၂၉-၃၁။ ယေ​ဇ၊ ၂၅:၁၅-၁၇။ ယော​လ၊ ၃:၄-၈။ အာ၊ ၁:၆-၈။ ဇေ၊ ၂:၄-၇။ ဇာ၊ ၉:၅-၇။2 ထာ​ဝ​ရ​ဘု​ရား မိန့်​တော်​မူ​သည်​ကား၊ မြောက်​မျက်​နှာ​ဘက်​က ရေ​သည်​ထ၍ လွှမ်း​မိုး​သော​ပင်​လယ်​ဖြစ်​လျက်၊ တစ်​ပြည်​လုံး​နှင့်၊ ပြည်၌ ပါ​သ​မျှ​ကို​လည်း​ကောင်း၊ မြို့​နှင့် မြို့၌​နေ​သော သူ​တို့​ကို​လည်း​ကောင်း​လွှမ်း​မိုး၍၊ သူ​တို့​သည် အော်​ဟစ်​ကြ​လိမ့်​မည်။ ပြည်​သူ​ပြည်​သား​တို့​သည် မြည်​တမ်း​ကြ​လိမ့်​မည်။ 3 ရန်​သူ​စီး​သော မြင်း​ခွာ​သံ၊ စိုင်း​သော​ရ​ထား​ဘီး​များ မြည်​သံ​ကြောင့်၊ အ​ဘ​တို့​သည် လက်​အား​လျော့၍ သား​တို့​ကို ပြန်​မ​ကြည့်​ကြ။ 4 အ​ကြောင်း​မူ​ကား၊ ဖိ​လိ​တ္တိ​အ​မျိုး​သား​တို့​ကို ဖျက်​ဆီး​ရ​သော​နေ့၊ တု​ရု​မြို့၊ ဇိ​ဒုန်​မြို့​ကို စစ်​ကူ​နိုင်​သော​သူ​အ​ကျန်​အ​ကြွင်း​ရှိ​သ​မျှ​ကို ပယ်​ဖြတ်​ရ​သော​နေ့​သည်​ရောက်၍၊ ထာ​ဝ​ရ​ဘု​ရား​သည် ဖိ​လိ​တ္တိ​အ​မျိုး​သား​နှင့် ကျန်​ကြွင်း​သော က​တ္တော​ရ​ပြည်​သား​တို့​ကို သုတ်​သင်​ပယ်​ရှင်း​တော်​မူ​မည်။ 5 ဂါ​ဇ​မြို့​သည် ဆံ​ပင်​ရိတ်​ခြင်း​ကို ခံ​ရ၏။ အာ​ရှ​ကေ​လုန်​မြို့​နှင့် ကျန်​ကြွင်း​သော ချိုင့်​အ​ရပ်​သည် ပျက်​စီး​ပြီ။ အ​ဘယ်​မျှ​ကာ​လ​ပတ်​လုံး ကိုယ်​အ​သား​ကို ခုတ်​ဖြတ်​ရ​မည်​နည်း။ 6 အို ထာ​ဝ​ရ​ဘု​ရား၏​ဓား​တော်၊ သင်​သည် အ​ဘယ်​မျှ​ကာ​လ​ပတ်​လုံး မ​ငြိမ်​ဘဲ​နေ​မည်​နည်း။ ကိုယ်​အိမ်၌ ဝင်၍​နေ​လော့။ နေ​ရာ​ကျ၍ ငြိမ်​ဝပ်​စွာ​နေ​လော့။ 7 အာ​ရှ​ကေ​လုန်​မြို့​နှင့် ပင်​လယ်​ကမ်း​အ​မှု၌ ထာ​ဝ​ရ​ဘု​ရား​မှာ​ထား​တော်​မူ​သော​ကြောင့်၊ အ​ဘယ်​သို့ ငြိမ်​ဝပ်​စွာ​နေ​နိုင်​သ​နည်း။ ထို​အ​မှု​ကို ဆောင်​ရွက်​စေ​ခြင်း​ငှာ ခန့်​ထား​တော်​မူ၏။

1 The word of Jehovah that came to the prophet Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh smote Gazah. 2 Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: and the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl, 3 at the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his steeds, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels: fathers shall not look back for their children, from feebleness of hands; 4 because of the day that cometh to lay waste all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper that remaineth; for Jehovah will lay waste the Philistines, the remnant of the island of Caphtor. 5 Baldness is come upon Gazah; Ashkelon is cut off, the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself? 6 Alas! sword of Jehovah, how long wilt thou not be quiet? Withdraw into thy scabbard, rest, and be still. 7 How shouldest thou be quiet? — For Jehovah hath given it a charge: against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore, there hath he appointed it.
